Dating from 1883, the Central Plaza Hotel is situated right at Zurich's Central Square next to the main railway station. Free WiFi and free gym access are available. The Plaza houses a grill restaurant and a piano bar with live music, as well as the King's Cave Restaurant, which is located in the cellar of the building and has a unique ambience with an open fireplace, ancient mirrors and paintings. Buffet breakfast is also offered at the Central Plaza. In the summertime, guests can enjoy dining on the outdoor terrace. What a great hotel! The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, with nice decor. We had a wonderful view down the river, and overlooking wonderful Zurich. Located only 1 block from the train station, so it is very handy. We would stay there again :-). Location - walk from the station (no need for taxi) and you are next to the old town. The hotel has a lovely warm feel and the decor of the room is very good.

Excellent staff. The hotel Central Plaza is conveniently located in center of old town Zurich, the famed Bahnhof Strasse (main shopping district) and across from main railway station. Most attractions are within walking distance 5 to 20 minutes away and there is much to chose from. Zurich is very cosmopolitan, clean and I felt rather safe walking about town on my own. Zurich Airport is a 15 minute train ride...The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and cheerful. The bar/cafe and restaurant downstairs offered the most delicious meals we had during our entire visit to both Zurich and Interlaken! The breakfast served in the bar/cafe was wonderful as well. The location was extremely convenient and I would absolutely stay there again. Bed was very comfortable!!! We had breakfast and lunch in the hotel and the service was excellent. Hotel looked after our luggage after we had booked out, whilst we toured Zurich before catching our train to Paris.Staff are particularly professional, efficent and friendly. The refurbished rooms on first floor are very attractive and comfortbable. I invariably stay at your hotel and intendnto do so again. I chose the hotel partly because of the elegant photos and the beautiful photos of the outdoor cafe. I did not realize that the outdoor cafe was not open for service (maybe only open in summer?) and the rooms had a much more modern look than I had anticipated. (Very Danish decor ---much like a nicer version of IKEA. Glass doors on bathrooms, etc.) Everything was still lovely, though. The bar area is a little dated.Zurich was experiencing a very warm spell and as the air conditioningwas switched off the room was much too warm to be comfortable, openingthe window was not really an option due to traffic noise. Some noise from traffic if the window is cracked open (but amazing sound proofing when the window is closed!). I think the rates should be inclusive of breakfast. The Breakfast price is too high.a little bit of noise coming from the street as I was at the first floor but not really much. Would have been nice to have coffee in the room.
