Best location, just 3min's walk from ZOO station.The room is not so large, but clean and quiet.Staff members are all kind and speak good English.Breakfast is excellent. Rental bike service is available, that is good so see around the city. Location was great, close to one of the main railway stations close to the shopping district. Staff was helpful, food was great and rooms were nice.

Breakfasts were on until 1030am but if one arrived after 10am the hotfood was far from being so-eg: tepid scrambled egg or almost coldboiled eggs.Allocated smoking after requesting non smoking but immediately putit right when questioned. This has happened before when bookingfrom websites. We asked reception staff for some tourist information and did not find them very knowledgeable apart from one young man who was really helpful and informative.They had run out of leaflets for the sightseeing tours of Berlin which I would have thought was a basic necessity for tourists. I also thought the decor was a little tired. However our room and bathroom were clean and perfectly acceptable.some wear and tear; could hear hear tv and talking of neighbors; a map of Berlin and public transportation would have been a great asset. It is very noisy. The rooms are not soundproof: my room was close to a private office of the hotel and it was not possible to sleep well because I could hear all the time people entering, passing close my door...BAsed on my previous expeiences I did not consider that this was a 4 star hotel. However I did appreciate it adn would be happy to stay again. vet convienent location. the bar area could be bigger considering the amount of rooms at the hotel. Speed in which we were kicked out of the breakfast room at 10,15 exactly!. Room much smaller than the pictures suggest...also we were promised a daily surprise, but the surprise was...we did nöt receive anything!. Very bad pillows on the beds. Drinks in the bar quite expensive.The rate for the first night was ok but the second night it was almost three times more expensive,when we enquired we were told it was because of Fruit Logistica exhibition. No proper soap/shampoo/toiletries in bathroom. Also restaurant not particularly inspiring for 4* so had to seek meals elsewhere.The hotel is of contemporary design and lacked a bit of atmosphere.

Travelling information

From Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main railway station): Take any westbound S-Bahn (city rail) train and exit at Zoologischer Garten. Leave the station via the Hardenbergstrasse exit. You will see the hotel after about 6 minutes. From Tegel Airport: Take bus number X9 to the Zoologischer Garten railway station. Walk along the Hardenbergstrasse. You will see the hotel after about 5 minutes. By car: Exit the A100 city motorway at Kaiserdamm and continue towards the Stadtzentrum (city centre). Continue straight ahead to the Ernst-Reuter-Platz square, then turn right into the Hardenbergstrasse. After about 6 minutes, you will see the hotel on the right-hand side.
