Our first trip to New York, the only thing I would suggest is that the windows should have double glazing to insulate the traffic noise, the horns and sirens 24hrs, but that is only I minor point overall it was what we were after with big rooms for all our luggage and nothing was to much trouble. Location. Staff were excellent - despite it being a busy hotel - one of the bellhops remembered my name and greeted me almost every time I returned - made me feel very welcome!. I liked the atmosphere at the lobby, and their willigness to stock my trave luggage during the day without any additional charge. The location was ideal. The staff were always helpful and the hotel was in a great location toshopping, Times Square and Grand Central Station. the location was great and the bed was extremely comfortable. proximity to where i needed to go. I felt the concierge was very unhelpful. I had 2 reasons to ask him for information and felt he was very offhanded in his manner. The shower used cloth shower curtains so that by the second shower thewater would wick out to the second curtain and onto the floor. Alsothere is no fan in the bathroom so it was a bit steamy when you got out. the rooms are small. even the king suites are small!! but they are well appointed rooms.As mentioned before, increased security made entry difficult. I was unaware of the extra taxes that would be applied to the room rate I had been quoted.Some of the items that attracted charges to my bill were not so explicitly disclosed. For example i thought the water and other drinks in the mini bar were complementary as there was a particular item displayed on the minibar with a price tag. on checking out i found that those items consumed were indeed charged. the bathroom was the size of a small closet with the smallest tub I have ever seen. the internet did not work for two days and on one day I had a cold water shower. Definitely not a 5 star hotel other than their prices and flower arrangement in the lobby. Rooms cleaner. service, we had to wait long,clearness,.
