Travelling as family with two older children 21 and 18, we chose the one bedroom suite with two double beds (most comfortable hotel beds we have ever slept in). The suite also had a bed settee in the lounge area. The suite was spacious and very comfortable with super TV's in bedroom and lounge, not that we spent much time watching the tv! Bathroom had all the facilities we required. Kitchenette also had adaquate facilties, which we only used for a light breakfast and coffee. We used the fridge .
all reviews » From the moment we entered the kimberly hotel in new york we were greeted with smiles from the receptionist. Our plane arrived in early so we knew check in was at around 3 o clock. So we were prepared to drop our bags and head off to check out the sights but to our surprise the room was ready for us when we got there which was fantastic. Really from there on the staff were great they even sent me up a birthday cake for my birthday:-) The hotel was beautiful the bed was amazing so cosy and soft. Great location, only about 3 blocks from 5th Avenue, The Rockefeller Centre, Radio City. You can easily walk to Central Park & MoMA. There is a subway station right around the corner that is on the green line which I think is one of the best lines to be on. There is a mini supermarket around the corner if you need anything. The staff were FABULOUS, the doorman giving my little neice high 5s every time we came and go. Lots of smiles. The concierge arranged for us to take our mother out for m. The hotel is in a perfect location. Walking distance to Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Central Park, subway. All of the staff were excellent and accommodating. The suite was very nice and provided room for both the early riser and the sleepyhead. The beds were very comfortable. The one bed-room suite was clean and had many thoughtful amenities including an umbrella! The only negative was that our room and balcony looked directly into the rooms of the hotel next door. Hardly a view. If fact a. The beds were extremely comfortable. We also particularly liked the large rooms (we had two suites) and the very friendly staff in the lobby. We booked online through letsbookhotel.com and made a request for suites near to each other and one with a view - and this was achieved for us. The hotel was in a great position for restaurants, metro and shopping and even decent walking distance to Central Park and Times Square. Wonderful location within walking distance of times square. Huge suite with fridge and microwave. Nice bathtub sheets and towels. The breakfast was fabulous and was a complementary upgrade for the week as our room was not yet ready for check in at 5pm. The roof top restaurant is lovely and the breakfast staff very welcoming. The Kimberly is a great value for the size of room in new York. Our room was very large, with a separate sitting area and was very well appointed. Most importantly it had a refrigerator, microwave in a separate small area which was great to keep a bit of food and drink. The location is fantastic, 3 minutes from the underground and near some great small local restaurants. They upgraded our group to a suite which was perfect for 2 women and 2 teenage daughters (2 bedrooms / 2 baths) Very clean / comfortable beds / view of Chrysler building from upper floors & rooftop patio. If I could, I'd like to arrange a "package" of 5 weekend stays during the winter months in this room!. Hotel location was at the heart of Midtown Manhattan. Easy to walk to Times Sq & Broadway. Just 10 minutes walk away from the 5th Ave. Rooms are quite large than hotels you see in NYC at that standart. Comfortable and well equipped. Staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel is being renovated outside so the windows were dirty - presumably just a temporary situation and not a problem for us. Disappointed that room type chosen for our stay according to description on your website was not what we were allocated upon arrival even though we booked nine months in advance. The pool is not on-site and not accessible to children - disappointing since we chose that hotel because of the pool for our teenagers. It was "Heaven on Earth". There was an ongoing construction that some parts are still just on the balconies of the rooms. Rooms insides also need to be renovated and refurbished cause it was a really old building. Nothing. All was great. breakfast was disappointing, not up to the standard. bathroom too small for a room occupancy of two or more. didn't worry us too much, but found roof bar area very busy with private functions on occasion, or with locals as is very popular. Positives far outweigh the negatives. Somewhat limited public spaces in the hotel, disappointing lobby and sports facilities are around the corner at a leisure club. -Mini fridge was broken -Heater in bedroom was eithere ungodly hot or freezing. This was in room 5 f When we inquired about moving rooms we were told the hotel was fully booked. I wish that they had highlighted local taxes more as they amounted to an extra $110 a day. Not honest about the amount of construction going on. Rented suite with balcony which I was not allowed to use. Lobby very, very small and extremely crowded at times. Living room very bare and needs more coziness. Living room and kitchen needs decor and ambiance added in -- very cold and empty. Biggest problem with hotel is not being truthful about the noise and adjusting prices to fit the noise. Bathroom in suite was very small. view was ok, but the room size made up for it.We had a suite with 2 beds. While we had a balcony, our view was awful - over a ventilation shaft which was so noisy that no one would want to spend any time ton the balcony. The Rooftop Bar was full of poseurs & the staff was snotty. Bathroom small as compared to rest of room- but normal nyc hotel size. Two nights very loud music from a clubbing event in the ground floor restaurant (we were located in the townhouse, wouldn't have been a problem in the main Hotel building. Refrigerator door was damaged an difficult to close. Nothing really to dislike. Could have stronger jetted showers. The AC was supplying cold air or tepid air, not possible to get something in between. The fan had to be working to get enough air into the room. But with the fan on, the noise is high. We were in NYC in October when it was not supposed to be hot and humid. Nothing!. A larger bathroom facility would have been nice....with a walk in shower and 2 sinks. Undergoing renovation but we were warned about that by Booking.com at the time of booking. Nothing comes to mind. Elevators were very slow. Oils adjust th heat so had to turn off to keep room from being too hot Breakfast buffet at rooftop cafe is pretty expensive ($29). Everything was perfect. It's still in remodelation, so it is noisy during the day. Although rooms were redecorated, it is more of the same. I expected more. The hotel is definitely overpriced. Flooring needs to be renovated, so as the interiors in general. Gym is a joke. Located in the middle of a business district, so the neighborhood is very busy - not a benefit for a sight-seeyer. The hotel is under reconstruction, so there can be some noice during the working hours. The aircondition is not fully effective in hot days. The are limited elevators which are rather small but this only caused a problem when we were checking out.
