Very central,hairdresser next door,loads of cafes etc..clean sheets and fresh towels each day tahts all you need. very nice accomodations and the staff was extremely friendly. the staff were so friendly and helpful. Staff very friendly my room clean comfortable, I would stay here again. The service at the hotel was friendly, and the rooms, while a bit worn already, were very tidy and also meticulously cleaned every day. We had taken a slight risk and booked the "run of the house"-option (best available room given upon arrival), and the room we were given was spacious and had a queen size bed. all reviews »
The room had a huge living area with a couch and chairs and TV - lots of space.The location and comfort, friendly staff. The room was exceptionally large for the area. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Great location as a tourist to NYC. This hotel has two bed rooms that can be guaranteed without breaking the bank.very well situated hotel, not to far from all ameinities, rooms are quite well, you get what you pay for, the breakfast is quite basic. Just be up early for breakfast otherwise say before you will be waiting a while for coffee,tea etc..you take it up to your room.There wasn't really anything we didn't like - those who demand five star facilities and service to be satisfied should book into a five star hotel. Perhaps an easy improvement to be made would be to have a power adaptor at the reception which the guests could borrow - we forgot ours at home and would not have wanted to buy another one. The air conditioner did not keep the room cool.No complimentary wi-fi. Decor is getting a little shabby and the room smelled musty. The beds were a little unconfortable, but clean.Not a problem for us, but no large lobby/reception area. The carpeting in the room could use a shampoo;and, the room could use freshening up a bit.It needs some renovation, at least fresh paint and change of carpet. "Continental breakfast" was a really poor description. A real disappointment. Hotel generally needs a makeover. Don't rely on interenet provide - outside contractor and they let the hotel down. My advice to anyone who wises to keep in touch with home is to buy a telephone card as the hotel telephone charges are outrages!!. No microwave, no coffee making, some doors were so old they didn't shut, no yogurt for breaky as stated in the website.Not really, altho the room and bathroom could do with a lick of paint just to spruce it up as bit. the breakfast arrangments. to fetch breakfast at the small lobby : never saw any juice, one day no jams or other bread left, had to go down a 2nd time for new coffee, hot water and cups ..; we only tried this twice, after that had our breakfast outside ; better not to advertise that breakfast is included; might give vouchers instead. The cleanliness of the room could be improved, my wife looked at the doors and behind the beds and there was room for improvement. price very high and when tax added makes it very high. Staff were not as helpful or cheerful as we would hope for. They rarelysmiled. They did not appear highly motivated to offer assistance nordiligent. Nyc accommodation is expensive leading us to seriously limitour stay - will be losing a great deal of potential business we imagine.Staff seemed to be looking for a tip without doing anything special. Wedon't understand this apparent 'culture'.TV - old model. The hotel needs complete renovation to justify the expensive prices charged. A limited serve-yourself breakfast is available in the very small lobby area, which has to be eaten in your bedroom.There are no tea/coffee-making facilities, and no bottled water to drink.The breakfast was appalling - doughnuts in the lobby, no restaurant. The quality of the room and hotel from my stay was appalling. There were holes in the walls, the heating was very old and noisy, decor old, bathroom finish poor. I would never stay there again, and did not enjoy the one night I spent there. The decor is badly in need of updating and the paintwork was disgusting.
