all reviews » very friendly atmosphere and the furnishings and decor were really excellent. To have a coffee maker in room was a bonus and I've not been in any other NY hotel with this facility. Again, the continental breakfast which was more than sufficient was very welcome, fresh and substantial. It was a very quiet hotel which is what I was looking for; no disturbed nights!, yet very conveniently situated.Good location close to Metro station, nice, safe zone of the city; walking distance of major attractions (5th ave, st patricks, central park); complimentary breakfast and wireless internet; good indian restaurant for room service. Staff where well informed and very keen to help with directions and recomendations. The rooms are a good size and spotlessly clean with air conditioners/heaters which work very well.The location and helpfulness of staff was excellent. The room was veryspacious and comfortable and very clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever experienced! We were given an upgrade on arrival and the room has a very large bed along with a lovely sitting area. Having heard stories about small NY rooms, we were pleasantly suprised. The location was perfect, within easy walking distance of everything we wished to see and it the local felt safe, which was important.Location was very good. Unfortunately some items of clothing were left in the closet on the day we were we leaving. On returning to the hotel, and informing the desk clerk that we had left these belongings in our room, he let us back into the room but the items had been taken. The lack of a hotel bar was a little dissapointing although there was an enterance into the restaurant/bar next door via the lobby, other than that I would recommend this hotel without hesitation. Breakfast was rather disappointing - the room was too small for the number of people trying to use it and If you did not eat bread or yougart, you had a bit of a problem. Also not only was it out of sync with the standard of the hotel but it is rather environmentally unfriendly to use disposable plates, cups, etc rather than real delph/cutlery. No lounge bar.breakfast room size too small limited breakfast. Breakfast was nothing to write home about, I feel for the price you pay they can give at least ham and cheese with the bread. Carpets/dust - as usual in US hotels.

The new Mint Lounge & Restaurant is located within the San Carlos Hotel with a street and lobby entrance. The menu varies from fine gourmet delicacies from Northern to Southern India and a wide range of delicious cocktails.

Modern Design, lighting effects and a soothing waterfall cascading down the stone wall in the backdrop give the restaurant an enjoyable exotic atmosphere. The Mint Lounge & Restaurant also provides room service to hotel guests.
