The Hotel Fita is very comfortable and clean. We stayed in a smaller room but it was set up well for our two night stay. The breakfast at the hotel is very good. Roel was a great host and provided good advice on what to see in Amsterdam.The location is very good with the Rijks Museum and Van Gogh Museum within two blocks, Leidseplein is within about four blocks, and one block from Amsterdam's mini Fifth Avenue - P.C.Hooftstraat. all reviews » Easily the friendliest staff of anywhere we stayed across Europe. Want to make your own cup of coffee or tea in your room ... it's all there for you. Want to iron your clothes ... there is an iron and ironing board in your room ( the first time we'd seen this in Europe in over a month of travel). It's these little differences that just make travel so much easier. Great breakfast, great location, one of the largest rooms and bathrooms we'd had on our trip. Perfect. Hotel and its Staff were fantastic, really felt well looked after from the first second we entered the hotel. Its in a lovely central location beside the Museum District and right next door to the Van Gough museum. Although we only made it down on the first morning for breakfast it is a must and very tasty with a good continental selection plus the offering of freshly cooked scrambled eggs & bacon or dutch pancakes :). I loved everything about my stay at the Hotel Fita. The room was clean, breakfast was really good. My hosts were very helpful. Especially Matijn, he helped me order a pizza late at night. The location is excellent. Right next to Van Gogh and Rijks Musuem. 2 minutes walk to the tram station which takes you all the tourist areas. I would love to stay here whenever I come again. the young staff were engaging and very helpful.The complimentary breakfast was delicious.My single bedroom was cosy and spotlessly clean.The location was ideal for all the sites but particularly the museums and art galleries and public transport to the airport stopped a 4 minute walk away.In all it was a perfect choice. The location is just brilliant. Perfect for museums and parks. Amsterdam is so wonderful for children. We found lovely places to eat, play and ice-skate near this amazing hotel. And transport couldn't be any easier with taxis and trams nearby. We will certainly return to Fita on our next visit to this splendid city. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was excellent. We loved the location in the Museum district - close enough to walk anywhere in the downtown, but quieter. There was no window in the room that could be opened. The room appeared to be rather dusty (tapis plein), because my husband's allergy to dust mite worsened. I can't think of anything that I didn't like. We have absolutely nothing to complain about. No negatives. There was nothing that I didn't like. Absolutely nothing!. nothing. - Even though it was on a side street, you could still hear some noise at night. Perhaps a back room would have been quieter. As a single person one feel rather discriminated against. The single room was very ordinary compared with the doubles, and was small and impersonal. It felt a bit like a sixth form college room - always sad for single travellers as they pay so much more per person. disappointing room size for solo traveller. Beds are soft & Low, The tube was too tall to get in or out and the anti-skid was worn off, During the day many children are playing outside, there is no a/c the room got warm with the windows closed, but the children are right outside, do not stay in the rooms during the day. The night was peaceful.
