The location and the fact that is new and modern. Location, Location, Location. It was chic and in the perfect location. The staff were awesome and hip. The stay enhanced an already perfect vacation. We were very pleased. Great, chic little hotel with a lovely brasserie attached on Amsterdam's equivalent of Bond Street - in an arty district. Very close to the Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and only ten minutes from Central Station by trams 2 or 5. We had an attic room which was small but stylish and well designed with a comfy bed and marble en-suite. Hotel staff were polite and efficient. Recommended!. Location. Unusual ultra-modern styled hotel. Comfortable and extremely well located. Staff were helpful and very pleasant.Good location away from street noise. The cosiness of the rooms - location - friendliness, the staff were very friendly - bed was very comfy. Original style, clean rooms
. the design and breakfast. The room was very tastefully decorated and had nice additions such as bathrobes and slippers. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was powerful and hot. Location of the hotel was great. The room was lovely. Bathroom was very nice. The doors to the bedrooms can be noisy when shut, especially if other residents slam them late at night. Was often woken up by other guests. Also minibar fridge in room was quite noisy, was situated near bed, again this did disturb sleep. Single glazing, so got a little too noisy in the morning. The air condition was not working. But it might have been user error. The walls and ceiling of my room were a bit scuffed (by bags and a swing-door repectively) and there was a noisy 'minibar' (actually just a fridge containing cans of soft drink) right next to the bed which I simply unplugged for the duration of my stay. There is no lobby. Hallway have wood floors which can be noisy when people enter or leave their rooms. After 6 pm there was no where to get a drink or anything to eat as the Brasserie closed and there were no tea/ cofee making facilities in room -there was a smell of sewerage coming from the bathroom sink which was not pleasant when brushing your teeth. Design of room compromised the practicality of it
One of the two bath towels had huge holes - very bad!
Shower power was weak
Constant noise from the fan in the bathroom that could not be turned off
. when we arrived there was chewing gum on the floor but the manager gave us a reduced rate and bought us a bottle of wine at a restaurant we visited so he put the problem right to which we were grateful. We were kept waiting a long time to check in, then the room we were taken to was not made up, so we were kept waiting again. The bathroom door could not be closed and the heating did not work the first day. Staff did attend to the heating but not the door.Staff were not overly friendly. Room was small and, although lovely, quite basic. Breakfast v. expensive.
