A perfect hotel for family stay. We were upgraded with a two bed room premier on 16 th floor, though we were on the other side of towers but still the garden view was beautiful. I loved the concept of having city view while in bath tub, it was so fascinating at night time that I missed it badly while staying in other hotels. Room interior was excellent with light colours and beautiful flower paintings. We really enjoyed our stay at this place and would definitely like to stay here only next ti.
all reviews » I loved Somerset Ampang, my apartment was very spacious, modern and clean. The staff are very friendly and courteous and the facilities superb. I used the rooftop pool and gym every day which was great to wake up in the morning or refresh after a hard day's work. The location is also very good in the embassy quarter and near to Ampang Park metro station. KLCC is also walking distance so was perfect for the convention centre. Ignore any bad comments about breakfast, it is right next door and the. Nice rooms with a lot of extras like stereo with iPod connection, fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer. Very nice rooftop swimming pool overlooking the city and the towers (until the new building is finished which will mostly block the view to the KLCC towers. Close to subway (5 min walk) and KLCC towers (15-20 min walk). Almost everything was top quality. Hard to single out one thing. Great place to stay. Someone here complained about breakfasts being boring and served in close by restaurant. Well, the breakfasts were great and the restaurant was just next door, the way from the elevator to the room might be longer than that. We stayed at Somerset Ampang for 1 night before our return flight to Europe. The staff was incredibly friendly and supportive: our flight was at 11 pm so we left our luggage at the hotel until around 8 pm and were even allowed to use the hotel facilities to refresh ourselves. staffs r friendly; nice buffet breakfast; nice swimming pool n gym area; toilet is spacious; love their complimentary water x 2 bottle daily that i dun hv to boil any water;-) ; also love their bath n shampoo taste gd n the condition/lotion :-). nice stay there!. First when I arrive around 3pm room was not ready so directly they upgraded me from a studio to 1 bed room apartment fully furnished with full glazing view, new and clean, very good response friendly and caring staff it was nice stay. Good location walking distance to KLCC and other downtown attractions. Great location on the city shopping fringe, and close (10 min walk) to transport. The apartments are well stocked with all basic amenities like crockery, cutlery, dish washing liquids etc. The pool has a gorgeous backdrop of the twin towers and the health centre is also quite good. Entrance lobby sounds bit dull for such a five star facility. Simple breakfast is served in next door restaurant and is of moderate quality, though sufficient for a start of the day. The space for the sunbeds is limited and sometimes is too crowded. a lttile bit old/dirty bedding n towels, better change them! at the last 2 night, there were a big mosquito in my room! luckily i caught it.... can place some sun umbrella nearby the chairs as its extremely hot at noon time there. cant spend half hr there for a sunbath... Breakfast. Breakfast is in a neighbouring restaurant and is, as many visitors pointed out, not impressive. Get a better choice of fruit please. Apartment maintenance and housekeeping have slipped since my last visit. The walk to the train, while close by, is also a bit up and down so not so great for wheels bags. Wish they would start in-house room service as we arrived at 12 midnight and only choice for dinner was ordering from an outside restaurant. Unfortunately even McDonald's couldn't deliver at that time and my kids had to survive on Noodles till next morning. Almost nothing. An odd mildewy smell was pervasive. And the dryer in the room's washer/dryer system didn't work at all, leaving us with damp clothes. The breakfast option is not that one which could be considerable. The Reception hall looks nothing like the apartment. It does not represent the Somerset at all. nothing really.. A strong smell of humidity. Food options very limited. Morning breakfast had less variety Vegeterian is not available. the wifi signal too poor & the brakefast was fair. Tricky parking system, lack of restaurants(restaurant located next building) , bedroom bit small. Breakfast space is small and no much variety of food. A little bit far from the very center of kl. nothing wrong with the hotel , However at rush hours taxis may refuse to go to the hotel street due to trafic jams or they will over charge you. Breakfast selection was bad.Very little choices. Location was a bit too away from the 'action' for me. The internet speed was awful too. Deposit lock time. Housekeeping could have child friendly items such as door jams and socket covers available. had to request for basic amenities like toothbrush, shower cap etc. Price is a bit high. Breakfast is not that good.No negative for this hotel. breakfast very average cleanliness of cooks/dress and appearance not up to 4 star standard. eating tablles and cuttlery not hygenic. location is littile away of the city center ,no restureant on the hotel it is contracted with the nearby soul out rest.
