I was really surprised at the size and amenities of the room for its price; I was expecting much less. The room was absurdly large with a sleeper couch, two televisions, and a mini kitchen equipped with a microwave and refrigerator (both of which we used). It was fairly quiet for being booked solid too, which is always a plus. I wish we could have spent some time there instead of just dropping from exhaustion. If these rates continue, we'll definitely stay at Wingate in the future.
all reviews » We had fantastic customer service from your reception staff. We would like to make a special comment about Charlotte. We had a situation with Florida express shuttle where we had major problems with getting picked up over a period of 3 hours. She tried many times to phone express shuttle to try and fix the problem. She couldn't do enough for us in the situation we were in. The hotel is extremely comfortable. Staff is very friendly. WIFI is fast and free. It has vendor machines for soda, water and snacks. Breakfast is very good for american standards. Free parking, walk distance from places to eat like ihop, hooters, taco bell and KFC. Business center with free printer. It was my third hotel in Orlando and the best of them. Location of Hotel is good. But you have to pay $10 every time to go to Universal Studio. Hotel transport is not available. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Check in is hassle free. Reception staff is very cooperative and helpful. Breakfast provided was ok. Except the breakfast everything was excellent. Location, IHOP is right next door for the lazy mornings we didn't wake up for free breakfast. Bed was really comfortable, very spacious room, nice tv with many channels, offer a shuttle to the nearby attractions (although we chose to just drive), very friendly staff, comfortable whirl pool. Plesant atomsphere from the time I walked in the front door to check in. Everything was very neat and clean,everyone was very helpful. The breakfast was awesome.keep up the good work. The hotel has very has good facilities and a good location because it is located close to the parks and International Drive. When first checked in the air conditioning didn't work, but the desk clerk was quick to respond and moved us within a few minutes. I have no complaint I am not a smoker,and I did see some customer smoking close to the front door as customer was coming in. Also there were customer who did respect the non smoking facility and were at the back of the parking lot. Nothing!. Nothing bad to say about this place. I will however, not recommend the ihop which is directly in front of this hotel. We walked over after checking in to have some dinner and when we were almost finished we found a bee in the toss salad and there was dried stuck food inside on the bottom of the coffee cup! Yech. They offered a free shuttle to the park, but the times didn't work for our schedule. But it was really great that they offered it!. The lady at check-in was a bit dismissive. It was a bit noisier than I expected. A little complaint is the half-empty bottle of shampoo. Could they not just replace it?. The only negative is leaving the hotel, you can only turn right, go 1/2 mile & make a u-turn across 3 lanes of traffic to get to restaurants, Universal, I-4, etc. Cost of the room could maybe have been a little less for the single night stay. Limited shuttle service to and from theme parks. n/a, everything was good!. sheer curtain in room torn and stained, reported to front desk. Only apples at breckfast, no yogert. Pillows were very lumpy. Same breakfast both days. difficult to find with the details given by booking.com. Had to resort to going to the information bureau. the mattress on the bed had a definate curvature in the center of the bed. i have a firm mattress at home but this was very hard. did not sleep well. the alarm clock and telephone both needed replacing. both did not work. Nothing. Everything was as expected. No bad surprises. Forgot to leave coffee packets in room for second morning shuttle only came once in am and once in pm so we did not use it. Wish it was much closer to major stores....but given the bus system and free shuttle ride i couldn't complain. Nothing to not like. Nothing. Toilet leaked onto bathroom floor and took 3 days to get fixed. nothing. The fitness center needs newer equipment. Size and cleanness of the pool. I wish there was a restaurant in the hotel and an area to purchase cocktails hated to have to leave the facilities. The breakfast, need some better choices.
