Very friendly and helpful staff; excellent rooms & facilities; good breakfast & bar ( haven't tried lunch/dinner, as we were out, but will try next time I stay ), comfortable lounge....love the decor of the large rooms...now adorned for Christmas very tastefully...has quite a family atmosphere, and I like that. If the weather had been better, we would have enjoyed a drink etc., outside in the garden. Will stay here again, and recommend it.

The hotel was in a good position being on the bus route into York, but only a short 10 minute walk.The hotel's dining room was impressive, I really liked the way all the crockery matched, a good touch, also the fresh flowers on every table. The food was good also, we ate there tow of the three nights we stayed there. This was a nice hotel, with friendly staff, comfy (if a little dated) bedrooms and a good breakfast, all within easy walking distance of the centre. No - although it might be difficult for the very disabled to get to the bedrooms as there was no lift. Perhaps when booking this should be mentioned. Personally it was no problem. Felt certain aspects of the room were rather tired but otherwise wouldcertainly use again. freinds room small and could do with a upgrade.
