We really had a great experience with vip Venice. You have to meet the vip person at the dock and they take you to the apartment. When we first arrived we made a few mistakes with the boat and arrived about 45 minutes after we were supposed to. No problem, the vip rep waited for us patiently outside in quite warm weather and was very understanding with our delay. all reviews » Excellent Location just stone throw from the main landmark St.Mark square & shopping area, 2 minutes walk to the boat station (public transport), Gondola ride and Harbour for a lovely walk specially if you enojoy great views of sunset, It is also very easy to find as it is the last stop of the line 2 "San Marco"... you can also walk to the fav market of Rialto 5 mins walk, also 2 minutes walk from Super market etc.. the Apartment was well equipped with utensil for cooking and serving food e. Excellent position. We had the 2 bedroom directly next to San Marco square. Heritage building with no lift on the 4th floor, but this was fine for us with only two small suitcases. Kitchenette was ideal, great cafe and restaurants around. Really spacious rooms. 3 kids easily in one room. View directly of the clock tower. Excellent place for feeling local. Not so good if you require concierge etc, but great for independent or family travel. We had a wonderful stay in Venice, much because of the ideal location of the Cavaletto BIS apartment just around the corner from Piazza San Marco. We also got very useful information on the way from the Vaparetto to the apartment and further information and tips on what to see, under our stay, from Vip in Venice. The apartment was bright, clean and very nice. We loved our stay and would love to come back. Wonderful accommodation with spacious rooms. Our apartment was close to the Grand Canal in San Marco and close to everything. The staff were fantastic and so helpful on arrival.Nothing was to much trouble for them, helping us with bookings and porters etc. Also the wlecome refreshment pack was great as we could have a cup of tea or coffee and a sncak on arrival after a long journey. We stayed in the apartment as a couple but it would have been fine for two couples or a group of friends. The welcome and the information given by the agent from Vip Venice, Paula, was friendly and very useful. The apartment was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Great location and very roomy. We are a family of 5 (3 kids) so this apartment was a welcome change 'size wise' to what we experienced elsewhere in Europe. We were able to walk to all major sites within 15 minutes from the apartment. Great restaurants nearby. Apartment also very secure with a doorman plus in our case no stairs to climb or lifts to catch. Great location walk to sights, restaurants, supermarket, market. Venice is expensive overall so the cost, while high, was in the range for the area. The electricity kept failing and needed constant visits to the electricity supply cupboard on ground floor. If you had more than one appliance switch on, all power failed. Very annoying!. Lack of light, no towel rings or hooks in the smaller bathroom. Showers are adequate but Americans who are used to convenience won't like showering in a bathtub a hand held showerhead. They have a charge of 50€ if you arrive after 7pm to get the keys. I wish that was more clear on the listing. They will not meet you after 23:00. The walls are a little thin. Bring some earplugs. After a day of running around the city you'll probably sleep through it all though. No soap holder in the shower. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and noisy Building entrance needed renovation (smelly, water leaks). View of the terrace not well, you couldn't see Piazza San Marco. However in the internet page tehere is a definition, ''you can see Piazza San Marco'' . Onthe contrary, you can see only roof of Basilica San Marco and the top of the Campanile. The stairs are very hip and it's very hard for older people. Its a little noisy at night with street and apts close to apt windows. Its a Apt - so fresh towels and minor clean up is self help. If there for a few days would be nice to have fresh towels dropped off...we did actually get some for extra towels for a extra - 20 euro fee. Which still is a bargain vs. Hotel rates... Bath room was too small. Nothing bad about this hotel. Washing machine wasn't working and no iron? The 'free' trip to Murano is good but too long and the sales pressure a bit much. Luggage must be carried up, and down, stairs to 4th(European) floor, or 5th(American) floor. No lift. No lift, we had to walk up to 3rd floor. Its worth to climb up the stairs to reach such beautiful apartment but not recommended for elders or disables. They charge 50 euro for arrivals after 19.00 and no arrivals after 23.00 so plan your time!. Wi-Fi weak. No lifts many flights of steps, not for the unfit - OK for young family but some should be aware. View is worth the climb. Steep stairs for more mature couples. Some of the lights did not work There was a power cut (not VIP's fault) Hot water for baths ran very slowly. no demonstration of how to use washing machine and dishwasher. No where the hang clothes , Stairs up to 4 th floor . Can not fault anything. Beds were a bit hard , pillows hard and water pressure too low. Pillows,. We stay in an apartment without elevator. To go up and to go down stairses with many luggages were very bad. It did not have traditional shower in the bathroom, only that type ducha in the bathtub. Nothing. Lots and lots of stairs!. No elevator and located on the fourth floor. Appliances needed help. Had to manually light gas stove (had to buy own lighter, too). Dishwasher ineffective. Clothes washing machine ineffective. Wifi didn't work on terrace. Room was a bit more cramped than expected and no standing shower. But still OK. Interior tired and grubby .no wifi that worked. The attitude of the owner of the apartment. Helpful at first but when there was problem, they took time to sort it out. We got sarcastic comments from them afterward. They also threaten to take money out from our bank account (the one we used to pay for the apt) because we were out for our dinner when they turned up to give us a key which works. We had stuck in the apt for over 5hrs waiting for this key to be delivered. It was my birthday, totally ruin!. The place was very dirty. The bathroom smelled like a diaper pail and the rugs were soiled. Mildew on the walls as well. The bathroom sink became clogged and unuseable by second day. The worst of it were bedbugs. If it gets professionally cleaned, it would be a good choice for a family.
