Staff were extremely attentive to needs to guests. They were charming, friendly and professional. Imagine having someone book a hair appointment for you in Killarney when you have never been there before. Clare did just that for me. She called three salons, got prices and availability and I took her advice. Is there an award for hotel reception staff who take care of one so well?. When I needed to cancel a massage booking, the staff were excellent. In fact, they were consisently kind, humourous and efficient throughout my stay. My room had lovely views of the river, was clean and the bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in. The fact that I got a sound sleep was proof of that! It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary, and we wanted somewhere nice to stay, and the staff made us feel very welcome, especially Rachel on reception. The other staff were very friendly and helpful aswell. Housekeeping was brilliant and our room was comfortable and always kept clean. This was a real treat for us. The food was very good. The lobby and rooms were very welcoming, confortable and beautiful ith lovely colors and furniture . The price was wonderful for such a charming place. I chose for convenience and reasonable reates but would choose again for charm and helpful staff.The location of the hotel was perfect and the hotel was very clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Food was very reasonable in the bar area. We got a larger room at the same rate as standard room because we had a young child with us. The decor of the rooms and the hotel in general was beautiful. The views from the hotel were amazing. Perhaps if there was a graduated rate for those who will not be eating a large morning meal - my daughter competed at the All-Irelands Dance Feis early in the morning and just a snack would be all she could manage. The heating in the room was very high,at times too hot. But i suppose its better than saying it was too cold!!. I requested a river view room which we got. However it was at the side of hotel where deliveries were made in the morning so we were woken early on two mornings by the noise of two trucks parked outside our room. Having said that they were gone within 10 minutes. It was not very close to downtown shopping.WIFI was not working for duration of stay. The paint work. It made the place look cheap.I felt that the evning meal menue was somewhat restricted and quite expensive. Heiniken was flat.

Ross Castle (5 km) - Newly restored, this 15th century fortress sits on the edge of the Lower Lake. The tower house is surrounded by a fortification with rounded turrets, and offers a magnificent view of the lakes and islands from its top. Lake cruises are run from the castle.
Muckross House (8 km) - Built in 1843, the rooms portray the lifestyles of the gentry and the working conditions of the servants. Skilled craft workers use traditional methods to produce high quality items of weaving and pottery. The gardens are famed for their beauty.
Torc Waterfall (8 km) - Dramatic falls that originate from the top of Torc Mountain from the Owengarriff River. At the base of the Lower Falls, you'll find a dramatic stairway to the Upper Falls, which will present you with excellent views of the area.
Crag Cave (24 km) - A unique attraction, Crag Cave is formed of limestone. It is a colourful wonderland of stalagmites and stalactites. Discovered in 1983 and thought to be over one million years old, this natural attraction has dramatic sound and lighting effects.
