What people say
The Owner was also the Host and greeted us with a smile and introduced herself. She told us about what events were happening while we were in Quebec City and how to get to the events. We were also greeted by other friendly staff as we passed. There is a quiet courtyard to give you a place to sit down before doing some touring. We enjoyed a glass of wine, which we purchased ourselves. It was a time we could sit and talk to our daughter about upcoming university classes. Our nights were co. all reviews »
Le Chateau de Pierre is a charming small hotel in the center of Old Town. It is in walking distance of great restaurants and the Citadel and museums. The room in the hotel was comfortable and the owner was a gracious hostess. Min was especially helpful in suggesting places to eat and things to do. Breakfast was included and fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, and a variety of beverages were offered. She even called a taxi for us at 4:30 in the morning. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The owner, Richard was really nice. Due to our late flight, we
didn't arrive to the Chateau until 11pm, he waited for us and gave
us a brief greetings. The Chateau and our room was nice and cosy with
a taste of French style and the view of the Fairmount Hotel.
Resturants and shops are in walking distance. We are most appreciated
that he offered us to have a late afternoon check out due to the snow
storm and my ankle was injuried unexpectally. We are really happy with
our stay here.
My niece and I loved everything about Le Chateau de Pierre.Min and her
husband were great hosts and made sure that we had everything we needed.
She was helpful in showing us places to go, places to eat, anything we
wanted to know. She gave us a card for parking which was great, nearby
and only $22 a day. We stayed right next to the wall and could see the
Chateau Frontenac. This is the only place to stay if you want comfort.
The continental breakfast was such a nice start to the day.
The hotel was quaint, well-maintained, and ideally located! We were treated royally by Min, the manager, and her husband, Ron. She was so helpful in directing us to tours and restaurants, and so friendly! We prefer a small boutique hotel with character to a big hotel with amenities we may not use. We had to leave early on the last day and they had a bag of muffins and fruit ready for us to take to the train station!.
The attentiveness of the host and hostess: they made exceptions to accommodate my excessively late arrival, early departure and change of plans mid flight; provided good advice on places to see, public transit options, currency exchange and services to visitors. My stay in French Canada was significantly enhanced by staying at the Chateau de Pierre. They have earned the very high score they now enjoy on Booking.
Beautifully appointed, very friendly staff, perfect location for our
Quebec City visit. Right in the "old Quebec- inside the
wall" location. Old British decor with French influence. The
room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The breakfast
provided was continental style, but still an excellent choice of
fresh fruits, breads, pastries, eggs, coffee, tea, and juice. We
would certainly return!.
A very nice traditional design with nice size rooms and good facilities inside. The new owners are more than eager to please. The breakfast is quite sizable with many options (possibly 25 items). Compared to a similar hotel we stayed at for one night around the corner (and for the same price), this one feels like a 5-star!!! The Frontenac is 100 metres away and there are obscure view to the River.
Richard, our host was excellent. He gave us some great tips on places to eat, and after eating at them, we were very impressed. He even called and made reservations for us. He was always around to answer questions and provide directions.
The room was extremely comfortable. I loved the decorating style. It fitted so well with the old world style of the old town of Quebec City.
Breakfast was perfect...many fresh choices without anything too heavy.
We were able to wander to the breakfast room and prepare our own plates
when we were ready. The host and hostess were helpful with local
information and very willing to look up details about local events. Our
room was small, but nicely decorated, freshly painted and comfortable.
A charming and very clean bed and breakfast with beautiful decor. Min and Ron are wonderful hosts. Rooms are well equipped. Breakfast is adequate. Location is wonderful, in the old city, just two doors from a beautiful square overlooking the port and the St. Lawrence river. Parking is available a block away.
Min and her husband were great. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the continental breakfast and location. Min was extremely helpful and generous with her time, locating a laundromat and nail salon nearby for me. She also helped get us a one night room nearby after we arrived a day early .
The new owners are exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The included breakfast was welcome but could be improved without much cost to the owners. Much appreciated however and again made better by the pleasantness of the owner. Proximity to restaurants and other attractions is wonderful.
Owner accommodated us by giving us a basement apartment as I had difficulty with stairs. Car parking organised by owner in advance and given clear concise instructions as to how to get there. Good breakfast with enough healthy choice. Very good location for eating, sight seeing etc.
What a gem--historic, quiet, comfortable, modern conveniences, great parking (nearby lot), and all in the midst of the finest part of Vieux Quebec. One block from Frontenac on the quiet end of the old quarter. Everything is within a few blocks. Hostess (Mim) is charming!.
Hotel is in a fantastic location very near Chateau Frontenac and centre
of the old town. Owner was very friendly and helpful with information
about getting around Quebec City. Rooms comfortable and spacious. Basic
breakfast of bread/bagels/waffles/fruit.
Helpful, friendly staff. Located within easy walking distance of Fairmont Chateau Frontenac "circle" and access to Old Quebec business district. Rate includes self-serve breakfast. Bed was extremely comfortable. Window air conditioner was a blessing!.
Very friendly host and hostess. Willing to go extra miles to make sure that we are comfortable. Very close to the the beautiful boardwalk. The entrance of the hotel can see the ocean. The view is million dollars. Breakfast is good as well.
I really liked the hosts. They were both very helpful. She rode with us in our car to go and pick up her car so we wouldn't have any trouble finding the parking garage.
Beautifully maintained home keeping within the time period.
Location was perfect, staff were very helpful and friendly. Room and hotel were very clean. Nice breakfast room, continental breakfast included. We enjoyed the courtyard which was surrounded by walls with a lovely garden.
The staff was very helpful and concerned for our wellbeing, parking and activities. She recommended several events and sights which we would have missed if she hadn't recommended them. It made the trip very memorable.
Min was wonderful in helping us into the room early and also packing a sweet bag of fruits and muffins for weary travelers early morning flight. We look forward to seeing you ad Le Chateau de Pierre again sometime.
Staff was extremely accomodating. They stored our luggage when we came off the cruise ship. Made sure we got breakfast before our flight. Wonderful location--close to the Citadel and the Old Town. Friendly.
The location of this inn far exceeded my expectations. We were two couples going to Quebec City for pleasure and all had a great time! The owners were very helpful, the rooms very clean. I'd highly recommend!.
Location was excellent: 1 block away from boardwalk ramparts of old Quebec and view of St. Lawrence.
Staff was excellent. Room was very good, and house hotel was over a hundred years old. Breakfast was good.
Everything was terrific. The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast each morning was very nice. Everyone tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We loved out time there.
I liked everything about this hotel especially the owners they could not do brought for you to name you feel at home...they even event to the shop to by tea for me because they did not have any.
Lovely proprietor (Min) and a definite best location - quiet, yet right in the centre of the old town.
Excellent breakfast. Freshly cooked rolls, fruit, yoghurt etc..
We had a FABULOUS time.
Great Location, great Hosts and a charming Hotel. First time we stayed in a small inner city hotel and we loved it. It was exactly what we were looking for.
The hotel was very comfortable and the location excellent - just a few steps outside and we could enjoy the historic sights and atmosphere of a charming city.
The owner was very friendly and accommodating.. She recommended a restaurant and a night tour that was really great!!! Will definitely stay here again!!.
The charm of the building over 100 years old with elegant furnishings.
The young couple owners provided excellent service.
In the heart of Quebec City.
Wonderful experience. The couple owners are so helpful and nice. The location is really perfect, right in the middle of old town, close to everything.
The owners (a Chinese couple) were wonderfully hospitable and friendly and the location was perfect! The house had style and old-French character.
This place is immaculate, location is perfect for visiting Quebec City
Owners are very helpful and have local knowledge
Breakfast was great.
We recently stayed in this place for several days. The people who runs this hotel is super nice. The location is great. The place is clean.
friendly helpful staff, clean, great location within short walking distance of Old Quebec, nice complementary continental breakfast.
Hotel was in a great location. Owners and staff very accomodating and hotel itself clean and with a decent continental breakfast.
Found Min to be very helpful and friendly. Also thought the small breakfasts were adequate, but surprised no cereals offered.
The hosts were very attentive and informative. Rooms were spacious and well appointed and the location was absolutely ideal.
Location is fabulous. Bed was very comfortable and the included breakfast was very good. I definitely recommend this hotel.
The owners were exceptional - very nice and helpful.
Loved the location - so close to everywhere we wished to visit.
very clean, excellant service,
very accomodating hostess,host
great breakfast
cozy century decor
great location.
B&B "feel." Very clean and well maintained. Good breakfast. Good shower and reasonably comfortable bed.
the owner was so nice.we could stay there very comfortable.we're gonna stay again,If we visit quebec city.
Min and Ron are excellent hosts and most accommodating! Staff very friendly, efficient and courteous.
The staff was amazing and it was extremely clean. Loved the stay and how close to everything it was.
Location is good for exploring the old town and it offers free wifi. Continental breakfast is good.
The greeting was delightful. Very friendly staff/owners! Would definitely stay again!!! MERCI!.
Very helpful and friendly staff. They made you feel at home from the time you stepped inside.
I found nothing displeasing.
There was nothing to dislike.
The mattress could be updated, as it was OK but past its prime.
The WiFi signal was not strong on the top floor.
The only thing wrong with this hotel is that there is no reception to speak of, which is a letdown and a bit disorienting, since the receptionist is in the basement in a small room.
Our bathroom was well equipped, but very small.
What's not to like?.
Room was extremely small as was the bathroom. Not sure if there were other options? Parking was expensive- cheaper option a few blocks away at Hotel de Ville.
Felt that it was a bit impersonal as owners don't live there. Every room used for accommodation so no lounge for relaxation etc. Breakfast room in basement somewhat cramped.
Room was small, not well sound-insulated. Bathroom was tiny - reminded us of a cruise ship bathroom!.
Wifi in the room is sporadic, in the hall is always good. Host said that he will add an wifi extender to remedy this.
It was an extremely hot stretch and the air conditioner would be off when we returned to our room.
Room was very small, although we had an enchanting terrace.
The squeeky bifold door between the bedroom and bathroom. Memorable!.
Rather expensive...however.
Nothing not to like:).
Were only there one night.
None!.
A bit cramped for breakfast table space when everyone showed up together, but that all made for community, and the owners were very resourceful in taking care of everyone.
small cramped bathroom, not very soundproof.
Nothing, everything was wonderful!.
Found the air-conditioner so noisy, couldn't hear the tv, nor sleep. Disappointed no small fridge available in rooms either. Phone wouldn't work when trying to ring a free 1-800 number.
Breakfast was adequate but more expansive selections would have been appreciated.
We experienced a technical break with the hot water, and essentially had no hot water during our one night stay. The management was cordial and offered us a fair discount on our room, which showed good customer service.
no issues at all.
Breakfast was not early enough for someone attending a conference where events began at 8:15am.
Nothing!.
It is located on a hill and does not have an elevator.
