the hotel is central to everything, excellent location!! excellent value for money, friendly and helpful staff!! it was a brilliant stay and i will be back!!!. Very central with easy access to all the attractions and value for money. Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable room. Easy acess to area places. Staff. the hotel is very well situated for sightseeing NY, its on the 28th and only 5 minutes away from the empire state building, very central between 5th and madison! The staff is friendly and the room is good size, new good bathroom!! We stayed for a week and had a great time.

Going to New York is that much better if you can stay in Manhattan and The Latham is down the block from the Empire State Building and the Flatiron. room was quiet and great location..priced right and avaliabilty a plus. very central across the road from the empire state building , Basic But clean rooms , cleaned every day, we stayed in both the rooms with shared bathroom and private bathroom the shower in the shared bathroom is fantastic and the bathroom is very clean and modern , most of the staff are helpful and friendly , but overall i would highly recommend this hotel, you wont do better for the money. The place is old, but it is clean, tidy, safe, quiet and comfortable. If you're looking for luxury then go pay for luxury somewhere else. I'll stay at the Latham next time and be happy.loved the price and the staff. the best out of the many hotels i've been in my life. It's was clean and the bath and toilets were in the room. for the price I have paid I could not find any other hotel in NYC that provide in room bath, at least not in your site.reasonably priced. Very unpolite staff on the arriving day and they gave us room what was very cold and freezing, the wind was blowing in from the window and outside was -20 degrees.We loved the Latham. the elevator was broke a few times, annoying if your room is on the 7th floor and had a long day of walking. the radioter was giving off lots of heat..too hot.. shower goes from hot to cold constantly in rooms with private bathroom but shared bathroom showers are fantastic , rooms very hot until we closed the valve on the radiator , air con not very effective, thought it was petty that after giving them over €1000 they charged me $ 4 to hold bags for a few hours when we checked out , but these are all small niggles it is a good hotel to stay in .The elevator is slow, but if you use it to go up and take the stairs down, its no big deal. too bad the room wasn't very soundproof, as we could hear everybody passing by in the corridor. We had some difficult to get asleep, but other than that, very good hotel!. shared bath is the only minus, although it was quite comfortable. needs refurbishment. Our twin room turned out to be a double bed and a matress on the floor. They didn't tell us - it was late when we arrived so we didn't complain. Beeping telefone when somebody was ringing (we just disconnectedtelephone for two days:)) and at the last evening fire alarm startingbeeping without any reason and again we asked help.Had the do not distrub tag on my door and yet the maid cleaned my room anyway. I don't always like my room cleaned when I am staying places. no, everything correspond to what we paid for the stay. From our room we looked at the backyard. There were two fans which made at times some noise. In the night they were silent enough to sleep. However, I could imagine that they run during summer all time. The shared bathrooms were mostly busy and my TV remote was missing. The hotel staff did not find the remote and did not bother to find one.For the price, I really can't criticize it, but if I must, it could'vebeen cleaner in the rooms (bathrooms were fine) and there is a loud clubbelow on Fri/Sat nights, so be aware. The elevator can make u crazy. shower over bath unusable no tea making facilities.could not open windows. There was a cochroach incident.It was very hot in the room. I could not sleep well, at 4 a.m. somebody began to make a noise and to start warm system. Heating didn't work properly in many rooms. it was quite noisey in the actual hotel,the water pipe was so loud at night and in other rooms. The elevator is very slowly. The hotel needs some renovations. The room door does not privide any secure feeling (although there are always stuff in the hotel loby guarding the place). got out of there after 2 nights, bathroom 2 corridors away from room. Did not feel v safe or secure at this hotel.
