Katherine behind the front desk was amazing. We arrive super early and even though we couldn't get an earlier check in at 8am she called the spa to allow us fix ourselves up and change in their facility. She did her best at getting the room ready and personally called us back at 1230 to let us know when it was. I felt like she was on the ball watching for our room to be vacated then cleaned and called us the moment it was. By that time however I was already 30 minutes away by foot thoroughly .
all reviews » What didn't I like?? It was at a great location 5-10 mins walk to Empire State and Times Square. Subway is only a block away. You have a 24 hour organic deli across the road Bread and Butter. Korean food and restaurants open till late. 15-20min walk to Chelsea and soho. Les Halle's french restaurant is just across the road! The room it self was so spacious, the bathroom was huge, it has a deep and wide bathtub, was great to relax in after walking for 10 hours around in NYC for 5 days. Beds we. Checked in and my room wasnt quite what I expected so I immediately went downstairs to see about upgrading. They were able to accomodate me for a reasonable upgrade fee. Well worth it as the room I ended up with was larger and beatutiful with a small patio and a view of Park Ave. The rooftop bar on Sat night was packed but hotel guests were given priority entry which I have heard is not common at other hotels. That was a definite plus. Everything was beautiful. My boyfriend and I live in the city but this was the perfect getaway. We loved the pool. And upon learning about your 2 year anniversary, the very kind Katherine at the front desk sent us a bottle of prosecco on the house. All the staff was kind and attentive. The atmosphere was not stuffy at all. Great stay!. Staff were amazingly helpful from when I first contacted them to when we left. You received special priority treatment at both Gansevoort rooftops for staying in the hotel. Our room was beautiful and spacious. As always. The Gansevoort on park was just perfect. Staff was super friendly.. The rooftop lounge was always happening.. Rihanna was staying in the hotel at the same time yet security were able to control all the crazy fans that were standing outside.. exellent hotel one of the best hotels i have stayed in, staff couldnt do enough for you, if i had to make a complaint it wud be that the noise from the nightclub upstairs was very loud but wasnt too bad, i would defently stay there again. We couldn't here the music from our room coming from the club upstairs but because we were facing on to park avenue we could hear sirens going off at 4am! if you wanted peace and quiet don't stay here!But in saying that would stay here again it's just at a great location and just an amazing hotel!. After check in I went upstairs to the insided pool bar for a drink and an appie and the service staff in the afternoon werent great. My waitress seemed more concerned with doing her hair and make up beside the bar than serving me. No negatives. Minor complaint: bed mattress too soft; more electrical outlets by the bed for electronics. I was dussapointed that the downstairs piano/ champagne bar was turned into a sports bar... But still not a big deal. Breakfast is provided in the italian restaurant of the hotel, at a expensive price (+25US$/persona continental brakfast). That I had to leave. Do you have a residence. Paper thin walls...I could hear every conversation from neighboring rooms...loud music, doors banging, laughing and talking in the hallway until 4am. Spa was not fully functional ( no manicurist available when requested, exercise room under renovation) and did not live up to the relaxing, inviting exhale spas I have experienced in Los Angeles ( seemed like an annex) Hotel looking a bit tired and has many plumbing/structural problems. Could be more sound proofed. There was a leak that spread to a large part of the floor of our room. there is an error on my bill which was charged to my account. Still waiting for the refund. I wish the hotel was a little more connected to the rooftop. It was a little hard to go back to the room and go back to the reservation we had in the Blue room. I didn't have my ID and they detained me, even though I was hosting a party. Fortunately, they let me go. rate is pretty high - but this is Manhatten ... Leaving!. Toilet Paper inferior compared to the rest of the bathroom towels and amenities. Would have liked extra bedding in closet. I would love a coffee making facility in the room. Rooftop pool closing at 7:00 P.M.; Pounding vibrations that came through our pillows from the band playing at the rooftop bar at 3:00 A.M.; Shower curtain that would not keep the shower water from forming a large puddle on the bathroom floor; I believe the website boasts a fridge in the room but it is so filled with product that we cannot fit anything of our own inside. Lack of comfortable sitting in room - sofa too deep to sit comfortably, chair not comfortable. Can't think of really anything. Nothing really ... maybe a bit expensive but must be the price tag for the location and this type of hotel in NYC. The cost of the room per night was in the high end. Wish they had mirror in the bedroom. Adjoining room door badly soundproofed, lacked privacy. Restaraunt over rated expensive food cold sent back came back cold again. Not good!!!!. The hotel is quite expensive. n/a. Street Noise. Crowded Bar - not all were open. N/A. place could be more posh. Rooms a little dim for ageing eyes. Example guest book put in safe instead of iPad. Bathrooms just starting to need an update. No radio in the room Strange guy outside the hotel one night asking me questions. I didn't realise he was meant to be from the security team!. But cleaning and replacing stuff was so so.
