Beautiful boutique hotel center of midtown close to all attractions. Well priced. Well maintained building. Rooms very clean and night time turn down was exceptional...my little daughter loved the chocolates on her pillow. Concierge provided great restaurant recommendations. Bell boys even stored our bikes that we brought with us on our trip. Wine and cheese in the evening...great idea. Even complimentry coffee in the lobby displayed an extra little touch that added to our positive memor.
all reviews » The whole staff is so welcoming, courteous, smiling and attentive. The room was very comfortable, well decorated and spacious. This hotel was renovated very tastefully. It's a beautiful, elegant hotel that is quiet which is rare in New-York City. I loved the bathroom, the robes and towels were very soft and it was extremely clean. I will definitly be back, this is a gem. This place is amazing. This is due to two facts or more. It's super clean, elegant, perfect location, but most importantly: people. The staff make all the difference, from Mili from the day shift, to Walter from the night shift, to every one from the front desk and the guys ( bellboys) who help u carry your stuff and open the door for you. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Hotel Chandler is extremely conveniently located between two subway lines making it very easy to get around. The facility was immaculate as were the actual rooms. The hotel is well cared for and I could not believe how quiet the rooms were. Slept like a baby and would definitely return to and recommend to anyone headed to New York to stay at Hotel Chandler. Very professional and friendly. We really felt like employees were interested in their guests. Wishes and requests were taken care of. Complaints were handled expertedly (we had to switch room first night as on the exterior a tube was having a problem). Very nice and helpful concierge and staff at reception and good cleaning. Super location. Highly recommend the Hotel Chandler to anyone staying in NYC because of its location. It is in the middle of Manhatten and close to the green line subway which makes it easy to get around. But the best things about the hotel are the friendly and helpful staff, the free wifi and comfy rooms. It is clean, secure and stylish. It's a small place on a quiet street and so a relaxing spot to stay. The room was comfortable although it was handicap accessible, which we did not request. They have coffee and tea available in the lobby 24 hours a day which was a nice touch when we arrived back late at night. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Bed was very comfortable and room size was fine (not too big, not too small). The refrigerator made A LOT of noise... So I ended up calling down to the front desk at 5am... They came up and unplugged it. Location is fabulous!. Everything - The staff were amazing and so so helpful. Charlie the Concierge was just brilliant. The Location just off 5th Avenue made it so easy to get everywhere . Beautiful room and facilities Cant wait to go back and try the new restaurant when it opens soon. The hotel was very recently refurbished in an Art Deco style and is extremely tasteful and looks superb. The rooms are very comfortable and beautifully decorated also. Position is excellent and Empire State is only two blocks away, as is the subway and Macys. What we really loved was the location. We have managed to visit all attractions by walk. Also the theatre in the evening. Our room in 10th floor was very clean and quiet. There was enough place for both of us in a bed room and as well in a bath room. Excellent location, excellent staff. Although our room had no view (as many dont in NYC) it was so quite at night which is a big plus! the bed was very comfy and the room was clean and warm. Everyone was very friendly. One of the Porters even remembered us from last summer. Location is excellent, close to many major destinations, yet the area around the hotel is quiet. The rooms are small but you have to accept that about NY. The air con is noisy but then we did have it going flat out because NY was in a heatwave. We tried to check in a bit early having just arrived in the city. They didn't have anything ready. We're aware that rooms are available starting at 3 p.m. but it was really inconvenient and unusual in our experience for them not to accommodate us. My room view was a brick wall... :(. Be nice to have draught beer in the bar and not just bottles. Very little. The rooms are not large and breakfast is expensive but then this is the same with any hotel. There are tons of places locally serving excellent breakfast choices. The only think that we really don't like was the shower. It was very clean also, but you have just one option - it is comming from the ceiling and it was impossible to avoid the cold part of it (cold water at the beginning) and not get your hair wet. No restaurant at the hotel. Price was $100 per night more than when we visited last year. The bathroom was quite cold - a heated towel rail would have been good. Also, the only way to turn on the shower was to actually stand in it and wait until the water turned hot! It was a shame that the hotel doesn't have a restaurant but we understand that one is being built. Nothing at all. The bar tender in the lounge was rude and judgemental. Condescending to other staff members. There was not anything that I did not like. The room was quite small, but hey, it's in NYC!. would be good to have complimentary tea/coffee facilities in the room rather than just downstairs in the main foyer, slow lifts, complimentary or more reasonable breakfast rates considering the price per night. Lots of construction of a new hotel restaurant going on when we visited, but not really something they can control. Our room was faced to the back of the building, hence the window faced into the patio and the roof. Unfortunately this caused our room to be dark all day long with no indication regarding the time of the day or the weather outside. But in New York there is no reason to stay in your room during the day anyway. No hot breakfast option, the area (little Korea) is a but mixed go a few blocks and you can find good shops, restaurants... none. breakfast overpriced and only continental available we eat out for breakfast this did not deter us from recommending hotel. Bar was being renovated. Everything is really great except the size of the room is on the smaller size but i guess its normal for NYC. No real complaints with anything. If I was to change one thing it would be to add some casual options to the restaurant menu or make some snack food available in the bar. But this is not a complaint just a suggestion. Rooms are small - but it is New York after all. Bathroom was rather small. Nothing. Small room, no full length wardrobe hanging space, noisy air conditioner. Rooms are small in comparison to other New York hotels. Noise of traffic etc could be heard from my room even though I was on the 10th floor and my windows were closed. nothing. - No decent breakfast (there is only continental breakfast) - Internet speed is bad. Nope. One negative thing though, the air condition equipment was exstremely noisy. Breakfast package is too costly. Noise from hallway is audible in rooms. Bathroom too small and some dust on the wall lights. Nothing.
