The Elder York Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh! The location is excellent, walking distance to all attractions. There are road works going on, but these won't interrupt your stay and should be over soon. We were greeted on arrival in a friendly way and shown our very clean and spacious room, with bathroom ensuite. Our host offered an excellent recommendation for a pub for dinner. Really cool place to stay-right in the town centre. Less than 10mins from train/bus station. Staff was very nice. We've got giant family room with 4post bed, with TV, hair drier, shower and bath. All spotless clean, fresh towels every morning. Breakfast room and food was very good, service quick. Everything was like on the website-no bad surprises.

Location is perfect. They are installing tram lines in the street but it still has access if you are arriving by car or taxi. Its a short walk to Waverly Station and all main tourist attractions can be reached by foot if you like to walk.
Room was excellent, breakfast was great. Did not try the restaurant at night but menu looked good and fairly priced.
Staff were all very friendly and attentive.
