We've stayed at Hotel Indigo in Glasgow which is fabulous and the Edinburgh one did not disappoint either. I believe it's only around 1 year old and this is evident in the decor of the hotel and the cleanliness - the rooms were immaculate! Rooms are beautiful - I had requested a quiet room (light sleeper!) and we were given a room on 3rd floor which was front facing - the room was beautiful (although smaller than I expected, but this is probably due to the fantastic ginormous bed!), however the.
all reviews » Location is perfect. They are installing tram lines in the street but it still has access if you are arriving by car or taxi. Its a short walk to Waverly Station and all main tourist attractions can be reached by foot if you like to walk. Room was excellent, breakfast was great. Did not try the restaurant at night but menu looked good and fairly priced. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. A little bit pricey but for a stay during the Festival it was fairly priced compared to other optio. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Road works on York Place made access with car impossible although receptionist did all she could to compensate. Maybe waiving/reducing car park fee would be a good idea. Nothing to do with hotel but the Grassmarket area was disappointing and grubby. None. On a wood floor a bed on wheels is not ideal, a bit in safe. The pillows were old and flat so I was aching by morning. There was nothing I could fault the hotel was amazing. Evening meal in the restaurant was a little disappointing as food did not all come out at the same time. Breakfast very good but busy both days. Second morning additional area by bar was laid up which helped. Could be more efficient in setting up tables again and ensuring all items are in place to add to speed of service. the temperature of the room was a little high and i couldnt get the thermistat to cool down. the window was looking stright into some other windows and a bick wall. A few plumbing issues. beds not kingsize and level 4 small and uncomfortable. Lack of parking was a problem. Having to leave!. Nothing. No bath . The fact that we weren't informed prior to arrival that the tram works are right outside the front and there is building work at the back. Noisy!. T.V functionality. Breakfast buffet was poor given the otherwise high standard Would not take much to do a better job. No parking and wrong directions given for car park. Very disappointed with room very noisy and unable to sleep due to very loud fan outside room window. the size of the room -too small considering it was king. Room Space.
