In the heart of the city, right on gran via full of shops and night life. Everything, particuarly the friendly staff.Very central . All staff very friendly. Great location. Reasonable prices. 24 hour reception service. Great balconys for the rooms at the 6 floor.The convenience of Hotel to Metro--and within walking distance of most of the"must see" places in Madrid.

First of all is location of the hotel: you can get moct important and popular sites in Madrid by walking 10-15 minutes. Everybody ,who get the room on the six floor ,get an beatiful addition - the balcony.It great!. great location, but... Everything was perfect. No fridge/minibar. The eleveter is a bit slow :). The pillows were quite uncomfortable and a fridge would have been useful as we were self catering. The key room must be replaced. It's failed already and very difficult toopen. The hotel staff do not speak English.Yes. I asked for a non-smoking room, although the room was non-smoking (because I do not smoke, but the room had ash trays), there were always a smoke odor. The bar/restaurant was a bit shabby and a constant smell of greasy food.Could do with a lick of paint. The food was poor. For the price, it was terrible, My shrimp was coldand the food had no seasoning. If I had a car I would have gonesomewhere else.breakfast not available. The room was very small for a double room, air conditioning was far fromperfect - not the kind of standard I was expecting. Noise at night time. Smelly toilet. Reception staff could be better in speaking english. tv and aircond not in good shape. When, we arrived, there was an unpleasant accident. I have booked twinroom and extra specified it in reservation form. However, they told usthat only double room with one bed was available. Finally we changed aroom for more expensive one. They have definitely given our booked roomto somebody else. the structure is quite old. Not extremely clean and rather old rooms. The air condition was not working at first day and I had to change myroom. The staff did know this and however I have seen another person whois in the same room that I was first day in which the air condition wasnot working. The other problem was that the toilet was leaking all thetime. The door of the bath could not close well. One day I invite myfriend to my room but the recieption did no. Not very clean especially the bathroom. Also one plug socket had no cover on it, dangerous!. Small, dim rooms in need of modernisation and the noise outside at night. Not enough clean, old furniture, bide facility has very strange construction ( impossible to use it). Contacts in light of bath room very bad , sometime need 40 sec to swith the light. But for 2 nights stay in the center of Madrid - it ok. The first impression of the hotel is "what's this?". Smells really bad, the rooms aren't clean and the AC just makes sound but no air coming out.terrible staff- unhelpfull and dont know english, the room was exctreamly dirty and the bathrooms- i would prefer to hold it in! the receptionist are mean and rude. we wanted to sit on the porch, but the roof was leaking so we couldn't, did we get some of compensation- hell not!.
