Very good breakfast - Very warm room (we were there in November and it was very cold outside but we were snug in our room) Our top floor room meant we used the lift all the time and we agree it is a small lift but we got up and down okay even with our two large suitcases The staff were very friendly and we chatted with them many times The view of the Dom from our streetside top floor was staggerin. all reviews »
excellent is the only way to describe our stay booked a family room for our visit for christmas markets made to feel very welcome room was great no 56 so spacious clean warm and made for a really lovely break for us would book again. Its location is very convenient for accessing the major sights in Cologne. Moreover, liked its reception staff for their welcoming. Due to early checkout, they have accepted to store the luggage until my depature. The staff was were nice and inviting.hospitality and cleanliness were perfect.They gave us an extra set of pillows and bed cover for my 5 year old daughter who sleeped with us.Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, abundant breakfast, computer spot and coffee machine in the lobby, shiningly clean bathroom, personal safety box in the room. Requested 4 person room, got basically a penthouse suite with a balcony. Great views of the Dom from all the way up there.very near the train station, about 5 mins. walk , it seems that they have the new furnishing, the decoration is new. I booked a non-refundable 47 euro single room. I was moved to a bigger double room in the following three days for the same price, because they need to fixed the TV in the single room. That was a really bonus for me. I also like their breakfast. THe location cannot be better in that price. They do not have a eye-catching sign so it is hard to find in the first visit. The central location and the friendliness of the staff were excellent in this hotel. The breakfast room was large and well spaced out. It can be quite noisy in the area with taxis/train station and all the people using this particular road but they have double glazed windows, which when closed help enormously. The towels are changed everyday and the beds made.Brilliant location - very central to Main Station. Great little hotel. Room was a little bit small and there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room although there was a coffee machine in the reception area but you had to pay two euros. It would have been more pleasant to have been able to have a drink in our room instead of sitting in the small reception area. The lift was very claustrophobic and we were on the fifth floor so had to use it for the cases. The elevator was really very small. There was a misunderstanding over payment of the room. Initially I was charged for the wrong room. The member of staff who dealt with it gave impression of being irritated by this even though she was partly responsible for the mix up. Later that day I was asked to pay again as the member of staff had failed to record my earlier payment. Fortunately, I had my bill to hand proving payment.Noise from Köln Hauptbahnhof and traffic - rooms facing station need to be better-soundproofed or ventilated so that windows can stay shut. the lift. I understand asking air-conditioning in that price is not fair. But I suggest they equip electric fans in summer. Elevalor is very tiny. Hot water didn't work for one night, and it was horrible taking a shower with super cold water. However, they had it fixed by 9 am next day. About TV, most of the channels speak Deutsch so I couldn't understand. CNN and Sport channel helped me get through those days in the hotel.
