The Blakeny is a family run b@b,excelent value, spotlessly clean with a wondeful home cooked breakfast far more than one could possibly eat but irresistable. Large room comfortable bed and cosy doona small but adequate bathroom with very good shower. Louise and her husband were so welcoming and helpful in every way even posting something I left in my room on for me. Delightful stay.It is a bit far from town but the bus is right outside the door and only takes 10 minutes. The same bus goes into . all reviews »
we chose tho stay here as we didn't want to be right in the middle of town. It' s a 25 minute walk to the Minster though there is a bus stop right outside if you want save your legs. The location was nice & quiet with hardly any traffic. The room was large, clean & comfy & there was plenty of nice food for breakfast. The hosts were friendly & helpful & were able to give us some really useful information. We will definitely stay there again when we return to york next year.
We really had great time...the staff were friendly.,.we feel very welcome, very clean and good for relaxing...very easy to commute.,. Breakfast is great and in good quantity... Louise and Mark are such wonderful people... It is a great place to stay...

Mark was a font of all local tourist knowledge and bus times which was helpful in planning our activities each day.

One of the best B&B's we have stayed in in the UK. Spacious room, very clean and all the facilities. The House has a pleasant sitting room and dining room. The hosts are very friendly and helped immensely with what was available in York. The breakfast was excellent.
