The efficient management from start to finish: all needs catered for (dressing gown, toiletries, immaculate towels and linen and table linen, comfortable bed, superb breakfasts with unlimited excellent coffee, big choice of hot drinks in room, hair dryer, good radiators, good reading light.) I asked for, and got, early breakfasts on time. Chests and wardrobe in bedroom basic but spotlessly clean and I was happy with them. Taxi ordered for me, luggage carried downstairs, everyone seemed to enjoy.

My husband and I stayed for 1 night in a double room that was fully equipped for our stay with the comforts of tea/coffee facilities, bathroom essentials and bath robes included as standard. The bathroom was huge with a fab shower. The owners of the hotel made us feel very welcome and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel is a short 1mile walk from the centre of York, with a nice pub just next door. I would definitely recommend the hotel and will be sure t. We really enjoyed our stay at York House. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was lovely and very clean with nice toiletries and a good hospitality tray. The beds were very comfortable. We had a lovely breakfast in the pleasant conservatory. York town centre is only a 10 minute stroll away, but if you don't want to walk, the bus stops outside York House (every 10 minutes), so very convenient. We would recommend York House to family and friends. This place is wonderful. The moment you walk through the doors you treated like you are important to the business. We cannot speak highly enough of the owner who will also cook you breakfast the next morning whilst his family serve you. David was really friendly and accommodating, he offered to let us keep our car in the car park for a couple of hours after we had checked out so that we could have another walk around the lovely City of York. Its convenient for the centre, about 10 to 15 minutes by foot. The cooked breakfast was lovely. We would recommend York House to our friends. The location is situated right on a bus route from the York Railway Station that only costs you ￡1.2 (single trip) or ￡1.8 (return) but bearing in mind the bus service stops at around 8pm. Even so, it only takes about 10 to 15 minutes walk between the Hotel and the York Old Town where you can find many sightseeing spots, merchandising shops and restaurants serving different kinds of cuisine. Me and husband stayed at the hotel for the first time and got a really good welcome when we arrived. The house was on a busy road but the house was very quiet The food was excellent and plenty of it. The girls were excellent and put themselves out to make sure you had all you needed well done girls!! The room was attended to each day - it was just a lovely place to stay. We had a lovely stay at York House, the staff were very welcoming and friendly, the room we had which had a four poster bed was very comfortable and spacious, no bath but a huge modern power shower. Breakfast was made to order. Overall we had a great stay here, it's fantastic value for money and a 15 minute walk into the centre of York. The room was lovely , well decorated , the bed the most comfortable we have slept in for ages.Breakfast was top quality and plentiful , the extension would be a lovely place to eat in the summer. The location was on a main bus route , though to be honest it was a short walk maybe 10 mins into the back of the city centre. Firstly, the reception I received from the staff was very warm and welcoming. Secondly, the information that was provided, for directions within York, relating to places of interest, was informed and accurate. The room was cleaned on a daily basis. Hot drinks were replenished daily and included coffee, tea, horlicks, hot chocolate and specialty coffees. My daughter lives round the corner so each time we go to visit her, we will defonately stay at York House. Everyone was incredibly friendly, I couldnt have asked for more!. The owners and staff were lovely and friendly. My husband was taken in to hospital for emergency surgery on our second day. The owner and staff were most concerned and I was offered lifts to and from the hospital, nothing was too much trouble for them. being only 10 mins walk to the centre,also having a pub serving really good food on the doorstep, like next door.being able to park the car for free and having a bus stop right outside the hotel so you can venture further afield if you wish to do so. York House is a well run and friendly hotel. It is well presented and clean. Ideally situated close to York City centre. Probably the most comfy of beds I've ever slept in. Food was excellent. Tv in the breakfast room! But it was turned off without demur when I asked. Nothing!. Nothing. It was a little far out from the town but buses were available. This would not stop me from staying at York House again it was excellent. This maybe a personal thing but I'd like to have cut fruit with my cereal for breakfast. there was nothing to fault the place. A personal thing... The mattresses too soft and rolled to the middle. But you can't please everybody. No problems - wished we had stayed longer :-). Car parkig is a little tight - but once you have parked you dont need yout car if you are looking at York. Nothing at all. Nothing serious to point. I only disliked the no-eating-at-the-room rule,, but there was the breakfast room for it anyway. The only thing that was not convenient was the matress of the bed, it was probably old and that's why it was not very comfortable. nothing. Telephone had a very long ring before answerphone kicked in. It rang at very late or early hours of the day or night. It needs to be out of guests hearing range. Would like to have a bit more freedom to have food in the room. My husband found the shower stall a bit confining. Slightly far out from the centre of town. There was nothing we did not like. Car parking was a bit tight, but I would recommend this b & b to anyone. Liked everything. There was nothing to fault. Having to leave!. nothing. the bed was too hard. didn't have the family feel.very professional owners but very business like,didn't effect the overall stay but would have liked a more relaxed family feel. excellent place to stay though and will return. Nothing. No dislikes. There was nothing that I didnt appreciate.
