Really convenient hotel in central Manchester. It was really clean, and warm enough in mid-February when it was pretty cold out. It was quick to check-in and the staff were really nice. There weren't enough tea bags and milk as I drink lots of cuppas but I went to reception and they have loads there and they encouraged me to take as many as I wanted. I paid £51 for a double room and this seems really good value compared to others I saw when researching. There were big windows, which was nice an.
all reviews » The location was very central and everything was within walking distance. The staff were very helpful, polite and professional. There are a number of extra touches which show that this chain thinks about its customers very carefully. For example, they have charging facilities for all mobile phones, they have a customer phone linked directly to a taxi service, they provided takeaway menus and organised the delivery etc. The room was really comfortable and I can't fault anything about the hot. Staff were very welcoming. Breakfast had great variety and was excellent value especially with teenage kids eating free. Room was fine for using as a base. Family room so not much floor space but enough for four suitcases as well as four people. Not quite as central as i had thought but ok once we knew where it was. Would happily stay there again. Not knowing Manchester I arrived at the wrong Premier Inn. The receptionist was so helpful and courteous in directing me to Central Premier. She even ordered me a taxi - Thank you Naomi for being so respectful to a tired 'lady' who had got lost. I commend you to be a shining example of true customer care for the Company. Well done. We didn't have breakfast as it seemed a bit pricey at over £8 - you can get brekky round the corner for under a fiver as you're in central Manchester!. However, this was resolved by a friendly staff member directing us to where we could leave bags on the morning. It would have been most helpful to have had a message posted as to where we could the night before instead of posters stating no bags to be left. A walk-in shower would have been more appropriate in a disabled access room. No comfortable chair to sit in although there was space for at least 1 armchair in the bay window area. Only a single upright chair at the desk in a room that would sleep 3 people. Very little hanging space in a shelving unit. Forgot to mention bathroom fan was not working in room 201. Only negative was the wifi which is 3 pound for 24 hours didnt work, but girl at reception refunded this when we mentioned it. Would have liked a slightly lower rate. Absence of soap,shampoo, etc in bathroom. Also limited quantities of tea and coffee sachets. I found no fault whatsoever. Ummm, nope, can't think of anything. there is nothing i did not like. No parking onsite so parking cost £18 for 16 hours. Probably cheaper parking available but if you are not familiar with the location not always easy to find. I liked everything. being allocated a room for the disabled. Somewhat high cost of room. Outside appearance of hotel and tired entrance area. That I could not open the window. No iron. Bathroom very small. Couldn't find booking under lead name found it under guest surname this was despite me ringing 2 hours before to confirm the booking. Not enough lighting in room. Didn't see any city centre maps in hotel. Thin toilet paper. No iron in room - minor point. no parking was annoying. Cost of rooms could be more competitive. 1) very very slow internet and you have to pay for it; 2) no fridge bar and safe in the room; 3) frugal with information, e.g. I was given a b&w copied tourist map that was hardly visible, and the hotel's phone numbers were not available in the room. Nothing really. Road access restricted because of Tory Conference!. I couldn't open the window to let any fresh air in, only opened a fraction and kept blowing shut. Also check-in was slow. did not like room allocated wanted to change it immediately but the desk staff at the time id not do it. the secured entry (by room key only) on the corridors meant that the door banged closed everytime someone entered or left the floor regardless of time. banging was heard day and throughout the night. Bathroom smelt of urine. Being on my own, I found having to pay the full rate of £139. I would have preferred to have had a single room, if you did have any. Slight smell in corridor. A little bit expensive. I don`t like the breakfast as an extra charge. Room a bit cold Rather expensive hotel. Windows in rooms would need to be sound proof.
