Good location: walking distance to the Piccadilly Station (about 15 mins, free bus runs on this route), close to the shopping district (about 10 mins). There are many small eateries close to the hotel and a Subway restaurant downstairs - we had breakfast there. Rooms well equipped - hairdryer, tea/coffee set. Clean, the staff is helpful (or at least they try to be). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Booked us a taxi when asked. We ate our evening meal at the hotel and the food was good value for money and excellent portion sizes. We also had breakfast which was great value for money. The room was basic but all we required. The beds were comfortable. The room was very clean.
all reviews » From first Hello to last Goodbye the staff were first class. The modern design suits us, and 24hour meals and drinks was a bonus.The room was spotless as was bathroom. Beds comfortable and room modern and spacious. Special deal with ncp £6 for 24hours in Manchester, excellent. the sense that it was exactly what it purports to be. and done authentically. staff were really really excellent. I was very impressed. 24 hour food at a budget hotel is incredible. Great to have a noon checkout. Great location. I would stay again and recommend to others. Location was great as I was working at Manchester central for the weekend - great concession price on parking just a few minutes walk away of £6 per day. Staff very helpful and rooms clean and comfortable - would definitely book this hotel again for all the reasons above. This was a very central hotel, the room was adequate for a brief stay. There was no sound or light disturbance from outside, even though we were directly over a main road. The room was clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Ideal location Really loved the fact that even though I asked not to be disturbed after 1st night stay a bag of clean towels, tea bags & milk was left outside the room for when I got up. Our room was facing the Portland Street so it was noisy, even if the window was closed. The tv was a bit broken - it didn't work properly but we got free internet access as a compensation which was nice (but it didn't work well also - we couldn't connect from time to time so someone from the staff had to come to help us). Our shower was slightly cracked at the connection keeping the shower head in place. This meant we had to hold the shower when washing. A small problem but rather frustrating. Nothing to report our time spent there was a joy.We will be going there again, and recommend it to others wanting a hotel in the centre of Manchester without having to pay over the odds. nothing. Breakfasts could be a little bit better for such price. However for short stay it is still OK to take one before leaving. Only faults were the fan unit above the door which seemed to work as a heater but not to cool the room, and the window was a bit warped and didn't close properly, which made the room a bit noisy. The bathroom door didn't close properly. Could have been better TV channels available. No waste bin in room-just in bathroom. These are all minor things to me but if they were all improved it would make a difference on the whole for some people I think. N/A. This is nothing to do with the hotel ,.....there is a nightclub/ club nearby ,.....woke me up people shouting outside etc,....my sons were at the back and didn't hear a thing ,we were on the first floor , at the front , maybe if you are higher up or a sound sleeper this won't bother you ... The lifts are slightly annoying with having to swipe your card then wait some time for lift go arrive! I had a rather awkward wait on arrival with another customer, us not quite knowing where the lift was, if we hadn't swiped the card properly etc!. The fact that a large group of male guests were allowed to run riot through the hotel all through the night (Friday). Suspect they were football fans as Manchester United were playing at home the following day. The hotel doesn't seem to have any security staff and we had a sleepless night and were too afraid to confront these people. The pillows provided weren't comfortable (too firm) and the towels were very small. Slight niggle - key card didn't work on last day but staff sorted it very quickly. Leaving Ibis Manchester !. Hot taps in bathroom are scalding hot. My wife actually had to fill the sink with a mixture of hot and cold water to wash her hands. We were woken 2 mornings in a row at 8am by builders upstairs - however when we complained we were refunded for these 2 nights which was very good of them. Bathroom small but not a big deal. Room rather cold and the heating only heated part of room ( it was exceptionally cold though!). The only problem I had was the parking charge, guy on reception took my parking ticket them gave it me back and said that I would only be charged the £6 a day charge but when I went to the pay point at the Oxford street car park I was charged £36 for two day'S. The bathroom is small and no breakfast included for booking through internet. Nothing really. Lack of complimentary Bathroom items (just one tiny Bar of Soap). The shower had a leak in the hose. There was no bacon at breakfast. there was not a thing i did,nt like...will stay there again. nothing. Appears clean at a glance but when you look around not so clean, breakfast overly expensive and not enough milk provided in rooms for tea or coffee.. There was nothing in my stay that I did not like about the hotel. The hot water running out in the shower one morning. Having to pay to store bags after checking out. WIFI - Very Very Terrible service. a little noisy. no wifi in the rooms. Rooms on Portland Street are noisy at night if one wants to leave window open for fresh air . Apart from that all good. Expensive for what you get. Nothing. wasn't told about the ironing room which we only saw as we were leaving. Nothing was great shall be looking again next year. Very loud guests - students in the middle of the night shouting kept me awake all night - although to be fair the hotel did call the police to have them ejected. Don't provide hand towels so had to ask for a second towel!! They provided straight away with no problems :-).
