The hotel is relatively new, and it looks it; very new and crisp feel about all of the décor and the hallways, walls etc. The staff are very pleasant, professional and helpful. Very comfortable room with a decent sized TV and a relatively small window but with a nice view (from the 11th floor) across Salford Quays. Excellent bar area. Location to get to the centre of Manchester is first rate; the hotel is situated right in the middle of all the new BBC buildings and right beside the Lowry Centr.
all reviews » We had asked for a twin room and when this was not available we were upgraded to a room with a super king bd in the executive area. The young manager who helped us was really helpful. We ended up with a most luxurious room and really enjoyed our stay The dining room was very attractive and comfortable and the breakfast convenient and of a good standard. Near Lowry museum, and outlet mall. Very easy for tram into Manchester city. Staff were efficient (they originally put us in a twin room but changed it to double room with no fuss). Large room, comfortable bed. Good location given that we wanted to visit the Lowry museum. Canal area has been very well renovated - good for tourists. Good newly built hotel just a short metro ride into Manchester. BBC studios and ITV studios all aroud so plenty of famous people bobbing about. Met Gary Lineker in prezzo on the Saturday night before he presents match of the day. Hotel room was spacious and bed was comfy. Excellent views of the city. Would stop here again for sure. The staff were friendly and helpful, they fixed a problem in one of our rooms immediately which was very good. The hotel was clean and really nice. Good location not too far from city centre. Also The staff were interested in what we were there for and genuinely cared you don't get this in other hotels!. All staff were great. Room very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Excellent meal in the restaurant. Very easy to get to from Manchester Piccadilly - Metrolink (pink line tram) from station (lower concourse) direct to MediaCity (last stop) then 2 min walk to hotel. Media City area has a lovely London feel to it with waterside bars/restaurants and green open spaces..lovely on a sunny day and perfect for an evening stroll. The staff were excellent, so helpful to us and made our stay special for us. The manager really went out of her way to get us a beautiful room for our anniversary and I can't fault her at all. The hotel room was warm and cosy, and it is really easy to get into Manchester City Centre by tram as there is a tram stop right outside the hotel. Food prices were high for what you got we ended up going elsewhere for breakfast and paying £11 for two drinks and two full english breakfasts not £15 each one. Only that I would have appreciated provision of more milk pots in the room - I haven't yet stayed in a hotel, UK or abroad, which provided enough milk for my taste and I always have to ask for more!!. Being further out of the city and still having to pay for parking, even though it is discounted, we have stayed in a centrally located hotel (100 yards from Harvey Nicolls) of a similar chain and had free parking. Would probably stay in the city and use tram to get to Media City and the Museums. A lot more choice of shops and Restaurants that at Media city. Nothing, had a great time. The pipes making noise kept me up for a lot of the night and kept waking me up. The curtain was dirty and there was a massive crack in our window. The room didn't have proper soap and body wash, there were just fittings on the walls that were hard to use. Leaving. The hotel is fine but the area around the BBC is very clinical as it is so new but may be once it is more embedded/established, this should show signs of life. I liked everything however maybe if they had a pool and spa it would have been that extra bonus . First room allocated had a strong body odour smell. Requested another room, reception staff were very apologetic and dealt with the request immediately. I do think it is on the expensive side and the pub is really pricy but all in all good!. Hovewer my banking card was pre-authoraised with corresponding booking + 50,-poundextra deposit charge, there was a temptation of the hotel staff to get the whole stay price once again when I was cheking out - the professionalism of the staff must be definetelly improved. We were given a room for disabled which meant we didn't have a bath. We did get moved fortunately there was another room available. I would not have enjoyed my stay if left in the original room. Parking is a bit annoying which can't be helped. Nearest is the car park but hotel can cap the charge overnight to £7 - this needs to be communicated clearly at check in. I had booked a twin room - but was given a double and the hotel would not change it. They didn't swipe my card as I checked in so I was unable to buy a drink at the bar. Hard to find a negative, breakfast was extra & would of been nice to be included in room rate. The bed wasn't all that comfy - for a double it was a bit small. Difficult to access when travelling by car, even with satnav. On return to the hotel at 23.30 on the sat night we found bar already closed, as residents we thought we could obtain a night cap, alas not to be. I was staying the night with my son. When I booked the room I was under the impression we would have separate beds, the hotel could only provide one double bed. No apology was offered or any form of discount. Unfortunately an uncomfortable night. - As an Ambassador Priority Club holder, I was expecting a "guaranteed upgrade" as promised. However, the hotel cliamed that they are fully occupied and they can't offer me an upgrade. - Very small bathrooms. - Smoking is prohibited in all rooms!. Nothing. nothing. Nothing. Cleaner came to clean the room at 9:45am when check-out wasn't until 11:00am - felt a little pressured to leave early. Couldn't fault the room itself though. Nothing. Some one got given the wrong room number and was knocking the door about 2 hours into our stay and the alarms went off due to something happening in the studios next door to the hotel. parking was very expensive, even with hotel discount. Didn't like the fact that you couldn't open a window, understand why though being a high rise building. Aircon worked perfectly. Very small storage/wardrobe spaces, we stayed four nights and needed much more. Bed too hard, did not sleep well as a result. Poor quality morning tea!! Avoid pre made tea at all costs!. It is far away from the city central. If you meet some day that the tram cannot go to the city center you should transfer the buses which replace the tram.
