Hotel Verdi is great if you want to avoid the red light noise.It'slocated right in the heart of the Museumplein area ,a quiet ,yetaccessible area close to beautiful Vondelpark. Friendly greeting and helpful information on arrival. Clean and spacious room. Plenty of hot water. Good breakfast. Excellent location. The location (right next to the concertgebouw and the museumplein). Quiet room. Big and comfortable bed. Sairs were very steep and narrow no one to carry suitcases up but may have been if I had asked. No lift. The pillows weren't great. Steep stairs (no warning on website information, would not have been suitable for older person, disabled or physically incapacitated), no help with bags, no tea-making facilities in rooms. No internet access, steep stairs, small room (tipical for Amsterdam).Fridge in sleeping room was making a terrible sound had to sleep with earplugs. Rooms in need of general upgrade(ie en suite putting in). It certainly needs to be cleaned regularly. The private toilet is a luxury and not a basic need for a traveler, that is bad criteria. the room, although relatively clean was shabby. toilet dirty.
