first of all the wellcome and very helpfull staff,which were very nice.the veiws out our bedroom window,it was so relaxing just to sit by the window with the cup of tea.and then the room service witch was exellent. I liked that on discovering that my room was a long distance from the lift we were quickly upgraded to executive room at no extra cost. Staff were friendly and accomodating at all times to two eldery ladies.

Hotel staff coming in the following morning before you have checked out. the room was not a good room. we asked to be changed but this room is apparently linked to booking.com. another customer arrived at the same time as us but was upgraded to an executive room cos she had booked directly with the hotel and it was available at the same price that we had paid. because of that, i wouldent book again with booking .com. the rooms are inferior and restrictive.Very warm in the room, air conditioning did not cool it down. We got a mistaken wake-up call at 7.10 a.m. which we had not requested.I ordered and double room but received a twin room. This was rectified quickly but was inconvenient. I also found the bar food to be extremely disappointing. The bathroom could certainly do with refurbishment. Full of Americans. Inexperienced staff (students on holiday?) and low quality breakfast for this class of hotel.bar arrangements - no residents' bar to relax. The cold ! The dining room was dreadfully cold at dinner and breakfast, many residents complained but to no avail. We were not offered discount, a voucher even a free drink. It is a dreadful to expect people to pay good money to sit shaking with cold while eating dinner.Ridiculously poor lighting in the bathroom, and the price for this very average hotel left a bad taste in my mouth.

Travelling information

To Kinsale from Cork Airport:
At the Airport Roundabout take the exit for Kinsale/R600 i.e. 3rd exit and continue on this route. Kinsale is approximately 20km - you will pass through the villages of Riverstick and Belgooly before arring in kinsale. The Trident is located on the water's edge at the end of the Pier Road (on the R600).

To Kinsale from Cork City:
Follow signs to Cork Airport. At the Airport Roundabout continue straight ahead (2nd exit) on the R600, from here follow the directions as from Cork Airport above.
