Fantastic setting right in the heart of the city. Lovely riverside location. Staff very friendly and as a solo traveller the bar staff made me feel like I was a local. One of the best Ceasar Salads I have tasted in a long time. Room very clean and comfortable and an excellent breakfast. Superb 4* hotel situated in centre of historic Kilkenny. Very attractive dining room overlooking river and Kilkenny Castle. Bedroom and bathroom spacious and well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities. Excellent leisure, spa and pool.
all reviews » The brightness, warmth and welcome when I first entered the hotel reception. The room I stayed in was on the 1st floor facing the river - it had a small balcony. The room was comfortable with deep rich colours giving an extra warmth. The room was very comfortable and clean, the restaurant had a very nice relaxing atmosphere and the food was very tasty, all hotel staff were very prompt and friendly.The restaurant was beautiful. The early bird menu was really nicely priced and the food was fantastic. great service too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Really nice hotel. Centrally located. Parking, might have alerted us of entrance and its narrowness, Also, objected to parking fee each time on leaving hotel.seating in restaurant were too close together. Noisy pub across the road.I didn't like the chef sending out my main course when i was still eating my starter.When my main course came out for the second time i couldn't eat it because it had been kept heated and it was all dried up and my fish was burnt and hard. The number of parking spaces for the size of the hotel is very limited.The hot water in the bathroom was a bit 'hit and miss'. Sometimes the shower would run extremely cold as if someone had turned the hot tap on. Not what I expected in a hotel of its type. Abrupt manner of receptonist on departure.

From Dublin: Take the M50 southbound leaving at junction 9. Take the N7 south, towards Waterford, this will turn into the M7. Leave the M7 at junction 11 and take the M9. Exit M9 at junction 11. At 2nd roundabout take 2nd exit. Over the traffic lights and 2nd exit at the roundabout. Continue onto John Street. Kilkenny Rivercourt is on the left before the bridge. From Cork: Take the N8 to Michelstown. At Michelstown take the M8 to Dublin. Exit off at Urlingford and continue along the R693 towards Freshford. Entering Kilkenny continue past St Luke’s hospital. At the roundabout take the 1st exit. Next roundabout take the 3rd exit. Continue straight past 3 sets of traffic lights and one roundabout onto John Street. Kilkenny Rivercourt is on the left before the bridge. From Rosslare Harbour: Take the N25 from Rosslare for the scenic route. Alternatively take the M9 from New Ross, keave at junction 9. 1st exit at roundabout and onto N10 (through the village of Danesfort). Next roundabout 1st exit. Next roundabout 2nd exit (Waterford Road). Next roundabout (at Lidl) 1st exit. Continue straight. Kilkenny Rivercourt is on your right side just after the bridge.
