We loved the hotel, the pub with the 3 stories was great, the whole hotel had a great atmosphere about it, we would definently come back if we are in kilkenny. The hotel entertainment and beer garden were great, location good also. Comfortable, easy atmosphere. Pleasant staff.Friendly and clean. The way the hotel has a night club and two bars.it was very central, and good entertainment. pub. We had a delay on our travel plans, they were more than accomodating when we called them to explain making out of hours provisions for our arrival. Very central hotel, safe private parking, lively, nicely designed comfortable bars and lounges.location and facilities. The attached pubs were wonderful. The location was very central and it was easy to find. All staff were excellent, choice of food in hotel, location was excellent, entertainment. The staff were friendly, it was well located, all in all no complaints. Great happy atmosphere, having a nightclub in the Hotel. Nice hotel ideally located with good friendly staff. Location was good, facilities were good!. staff where friendly. city centre location. hotel and staff. The staff are very helpful and friendly during the day. The food is fantastic. Decor of Restaurants, Nightclub and Bars. Good location. Sheila, the receptionist was friendly, welcoming and informative! The hotel is a good base for a night out, as there is two pubs and a nightclub in it, we didn't leave for the night!. I liked the factt hat it was right in the heart of kilkenny. It had parking and was clean. i liked it was in the heart of the city. Outstanding breakfast. Friendly atmosphere. It was central. Friendliness of staff was brilliant, I would recomment the hotel for this reason and also for the location. The hotel had both a bar, disco and a restaurant. it's location and the staff when i checked in were helpful. too many hen and stag parties. karekoe. just not my cup of tea.Food in hotel wasn't the best. Breakfast wasnt the best!. no room service. It would be mindful to alert future guests that the hotel was noisy into the early hours. the night club 'club 51' we thought was a bit dodgie, there was a lot of fights and we just didnt feel safe staying in the club too long. Wi-fi was very difficult to obtain in public areas. Only managed it once.trying to remember which door to come in. to be honest was waiting for a fight to break out at any minute, ended up moving to another pub, could of been just a bad crowd. could not see out our window because we were over the smoking area and our first nights stay their was on hot water. Room old fashioned and we were charged pretty much same rate as people we knew had modern larger rooms. No breakfast in bed!! We were locked out of the hotel in the freezing cold and rain, turned out we were to press a tiny bell over the door of thepub, with noaccess to the hotel entrance...locking guests from the main entrance to a hotel??? Enjoyed stay in general though. If you booked the room on the same day as you were staying it does not mention that you need to call the Hotel aswell to confirm as when I arived on that evening the Hotel did not have us booked in yet-She said confirmation would only come through later that evening. Only lucky she had a room for two nights inclusive. only problem with the hotel was the noise from the night club downstairs. Paying on arrival.....never been asked to do that before!. sausages at breakfast were sour and needed to ask for the heating in the room to be turned on twice. loud noise during the night untill 5.30 am. attitude of the nightclub bouncers when we wanted to get into the hotel was not appreciated. The staff can be quite rude at night but I think this may be due to the very long shifts. Can be noisy would not suit young children. Very noisy at night time.Constant banging of doors and shouting. the noise. The decor was a little shabby. We booked a triple and double room. The triple room had been updated whereas mine was older but clean. I was unable to breath in my room due to the stench of cigarette smoke, however reception did change my room once I complained. Some of the bar staff were very unfriendly at times. i could hear the loud music and the bass from the speakers from my room. Beds not so comfortable. Too noisy and our room was facing the road.. did not get to sleep until very late.. Also Breakfast was made with cheap ingredients.. breaded sausages.. etc etc..the only exception was an off duty member of staff, who was drunk at the bar and a little abusive. The room ventilation was noisy, the beds very old and uncomfortable. room was a bit smelly but tidy (windows were open at 5 pm in jan to air the room so it was a bit cold). matress were uncomfortable and the helpful staff when i checked in seemed very grumpy and just about checked me out of the hotel the next day. too noisey. smelly room with no windows? €180 per night .it was a let down. The Hotel was full of gangs of hens and stags, we were woke up bothnights we stayed there from 3.30 - 5.30 Lucky I didnt have my 5 year olddaughter with me, I wouldnt stay there again. The room we paid 120.00 anight for was so small we were lucky to fit the 2 of us in it and it wasa very tight squeeze.
