Over many years I have booked friends & business colleagues into this city center however this October, I made a quick long weekend trip (Oct 13) to Dublin & stayed at this hotel myself. Friendly reception staff (all Irish ladies) & my single room (a 'small' double) was at the back of the hotel, away from the busier main road. Getting to room 226 was an adventure. Lift to second floor, down 2 steps, then a flight of stairs to a mezzanine 1+1/2 floor - up 2 steps, then another walk m.

At the same time the hotel is situated in a very quiet spot in the heart of the city, and you can sleep your night in peace. Lovely old-fashioned atmosphere, friendly staff and very confortable rooms. Bar and lobby are welcoming. Ask for a room with a wifi. I recommend very warmly this hotel to visitors who wish to have everything at their reach in a couple of minutes, and to sleep peacefully at night. You get from the . Our room was nicely appointed, the bed quite comfortable with crisp, fresh linens, the bathroom bright and clean, with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Breakfasts offer a nice array of hot and cold options. The location was unbeatable! The street is quiet, with so many attractions nearby and easily explored on foot. Lovely hotel fashioned together from set of row-houses in ideal Dublin location between Dawson and Kildare streets, close to everything but quiet and with a touch of elegance. The hotel is very close to all the famous landmarks and also with easy access to local stations to be able to visit the fantastic nearby coast. We had a great break here and would love to return. Liked the hotel as it was an older style and not modern. Location was brilliant. 20 minute walk to Connelly Street Station and then we walked to all the tourist attractions with our 7 year old. Breakfast was great as was the food in the bar/restaurant. Buswells has not gone the slick and impersonalised route of many other hotels. The style is "comfy olde world" rather than "modern minimalist". But within this style, everything is new and luxurious. In particular, the service is very personal. Hot breakfast cooked to order. Wifi is free. Location is perfect for city centre (shopping, museums and government offices). The location of the hotel is excellent for either business or pleasure. The staff were very helpful,friendly and efficient. In fact I needed to get a document printed and they were most helpful. The room was big, comfortable and very clean and the breakfast was really good too. I will definitely stay there again and would recommend it without hesitation. We arrived late because Dublin is a very difficult city to navigate and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They kept the kitchen open for us and we had great accommodations that were next to each other since we are a large family and we can never get a room together. I would greatly recommend this hotel. Old fashioned grandeur which was very nice. Booked a twin room for myself and my young son, the room we got had a little annexe room attached with a single bed he was delighted to have his own space. Atmospheric old hotel made up of old Georgian town houses. this means that the corridors are somewhat 'higgledy piggedly' and parts of the dining are a bit dark but this adds to its charm. Had we not been in a rush to get to the airport, we could have waited a bit and the water would have adjusted itself, I'm sure. For the price and location, we really couldn't complain. The room was a bit small, but comfortable. We liked this hotel in every way. Nothing really. Our only complaint would be that the reservation was made by a family member in Dublin. Although we registered with our proper individual names, when a friend came to meet us, she was told we were not there & could not locate us. She had to return to Malahide & email for our room # so she could talk with us. I felt badly that she was so inconvenienced. Minor point really, but our room was along a very narrow corridor with several steps that made arrival & departure with luggage a little tricky. We stayed for two different sets of dates on a two week visit to Ireland. On our second visit we were given a room with an uncomfortable bed, which was definitely not the case on our first visit. We asked for a room change and the staff was very obliging, moving our luggage for us to a very nice room while we were out on a day-long tour. The new room (#99) exceeded expectations, but the hotel might consider replacing the mattress in room 212. Our bedroom was spacious but a little tired. Our adult son stayed in a single room, this was comfortable but very small. My room was too far to get Wi-Fi. Then again, the building is over 100 yrs young, so I forgive it! Wonderful hotel!. Using the tub to shower is awkward and slippery. Nothing. I wasnt terribly excited with my room which was poorly lighted and not very warm . I did get a cheap deal , however and since I was only there for one night , it was fine . The bed was clean and comfortable. the coffee, really bad, and because of this I had to go out to have breakfast. Slow service at reception on occasions as small hotel and one person dealing with reception therefore can be quite a hold up if they are dealing with a problem. Also our bed was not situated in a good place in the room. Very tight to get around it if you are a large male! A little tight accommodation and could not have stayed longer than 2 nights in that particular room. (room 114). I did not want to leave ! :). Rooms a little small. Some renovation works, however really quiet , so no problem at all. There seemed to be a problem with the hot water. I had a nice hot shower but my husband was not so fortunate and said the water was very cold! I rang reception and we were told to let the water run for 5 minutes. However apart from being a waste of water, it didn't make much difference. If you were staying for business purposes, you wouldn't have time for this!. No complaints at all. Nothing. Mary on reception wasn't the friendliest of people, although she did very kindly help me with my booking blunder. No complaints. I would have liked a swimming pool. Deirbhile, 10 years old. the hot water in the shower comes 5 minutes after openning it !!!!!! safe in room didnt function. nobody succeded to fix it for 3 days because week end.
