We did get upgraded to a business class room so it was even nicer. The value for money was really great. Since it's so close to the Taj Mahal, you can just walk there. The restaurant has a wide selection on the buffet. The pool is also quite nice.

  We had the most wonderful experience at the hotel. We arrived early one morning (8.30am) and were escorted to our room; asked for a late check out the next day and once again, they obliged. The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The restaurant was very pleasant and the food was delicious; the waiters even had a laugh with us... what people say » . We could not be more happy with The Gateway Hotel Fatehabad Agra and will sure to recommend it to others who wish to visit Agra. We loved the fact t - The hotel was beautifully decorated, the rooms were spacious and well equipped. We booked ourselves in for a massage which was very good although at £35 for an hour - quite expensive. Staff were friendly and helpful although probably a little too imposing. The pool looked lovely although it was too cold when we visited to actually swim in it. The room had a a view of the Taj Mahal.

  The rooms at The Retreat are lovely and much larger than those at other similarly priced hotels in Agra, bathrooms are well appointed. Breakfast was excellent and the staff had a very flexible attitude towards guests knowing many try to get to the Taj early. Travelled with a group ranging from my 98year old father to my 3month old baby with children in between too. The hotel staff ensured our stay was as comfortable as possible by going out of their way to help us. They also assisted with finding a booking local attractions.

  This was the most luxurious place we stayed on our visit to India. Moses responded to my e-mails promptly and arranged pick-up from the train station and a car to take us to the Taj Mahal and on to Jaipur the next day; Rabi, our driver, was not only an excellent driver (very important on Indian roads filled with horse-drawn carts, water buffalo, ... what people say » cars driving in the wrong direction etc.), but an enthusiatic guide. We were greeted on arrival at the hotel and had a wonderful restful evening after - Check in was smooth .Room size was big which makes us feel very comfortable as we have 2 young kids with us and and free space is sometimes not available in smaller rooms. All the basics facilities were very well taken care of and staff was supportive. My wife went for spa and kind of liked the experience..

The family that own this place are very nice people. They are ready to help you with any problem. It's located in about 5 minutes of walk from the place where you can buy a ticket and catch a golf car to Taj Mahal. Food is also very testy there. I highly recommend this place to people who are looking for a guest house where can they stay for a couple of days.
