But it's not noisy and quite place -Close access to the central Railway and Bus stations - A lot of caffees, restaurants, shopping molls around - Very good "value for money" ! - Safety ( accesses to the hotel/floor/ room with PIN codes only) - Funny case with full self-service: no reception, staff etc. - Very quick check-in/check-put - just come in to your room with PIN code you recieve by SMS/e-mail - Rooms are well-equipped: there are MW.
all reviews » It's a nice and very quiet hotel in the centre of Helsinki. Great for anyone who wants to live right in the centre and very close to all the shops, restaurants and the Central Train Station etc. Not a luxury place but certainly does what it says on the tin. Very contemporary design. You get into the hotel with a door code which you also use for your room and the lifts. Great value for money. In expensive cities like Helsinki (or Oslo) these hotels can be a real help !! Great location of the hotel coupled with great facilities just made it more attractive. The wifi was very good !! In fact no hassles of username and password - they were quite intelligent here. Perfect location. Everything you need for a short stay, when you have limited finances, microwave, fridge, tea, coffee.. Quiet and clean room. Even supplementary beds are more or less comfortable. Phone Help desk 24 hours - a good substitute for reception desk. Good price and in the middle of the city! There is no reception but this can be handled easily. You have to use the code you will receive to both enter the hotel (at night) and open the room itself. Room quite big and very clean. Good value for money and great location. The room has everything you need and is also big big enough. There's a number you can call to speak to an employee if there's a problem with your door code for instance and they are very helpful and polite. However, I do prefer human face to face interaction. Maybe I'm just a little old fashioned... If somebody is staying for >1 night, the room might need a cleanup - which actually did not happen. At the endof the day when you comeback to an untidy room - as you left it, you dont feel that good. And a sort of a business center - a PC with a printer could also have been placed - in case people needed some printouts of tickets etc. You can use your door code only from 16.00 till 12.00 when you check-out, which means you cannot leave some of your luggage in the locker earlier or longer than this. Maybe reception would make the Omena Hotel more traveler friendly and warm. - Not too much, it is simple but works. I travelled in the mid winter so it was very cold in Helsinki , however the room was like a Sauna especially the first night.Unfortunately there was no way to open the windows or control the temperature. The breakfast if by arrangement at local cafe but when I got there the staff said they were not offering this anymore to the Omena Hotel??. The room was a bit too small and the pillar in the middle did not allow to unfold the extra-bed. The extra bed is good for children (in terms of matrass thickness) but would be too thin for adult. there was some food left in our fridge. In the beginning it was difficult to understand the system of door openning as there is not stuff. The shower was not very clean there were other's people hair and shampoo slashes on the wals. The other thing was that you can not open the windows in the room so an absolute absence of fresh air made it wery difficult to sleep. matress to thin and soft. I had to ring to get my room number as it was not sent as an sms or email as I was advised when I booked. Remote for tv was not working, and this is the second time that I have stayed at an Omena Hotel and had this issue. We also had a fire alarm and had to evacuate, however there was not communication from any hotel 'staff' once we were outside. No conditioner (windows cannot be opened), no bathroab, no sneackers. However all this is expected for such fair price. Nothing/. No option for left luggage. As there are no staff on site and everything is done by access codes, there isn't much atmosphere. There was no hairdryer in the room, which surprised us a lot in a negative sence. The sink in the bathroom was broken and the water ran on the floor. Checkin from 16.00. Before you should wait outside on the street because door code is not valid. The rooms were stuffy and we could not open the windows for some fresh air. With 4 people in one room the room gets very hot. Allowance must be made for some windows to open. no parking, having to remember a key code to go anywhere. Nothing. 1. Closed window. 2. Cleaning has not been done/. Chek in 4 p.m. russian chanel conditioner. Nothing. Nothing :). no staff, caused no issue though. Small rooms. Not for 4 person. They don't have any automates with snakes. the password didn't work at 4pm, we have to wait until 4:30pm. No temperature control in room. quite expensive but still average in Helsinki. there are no staff - it is access by code and there is no restaurant etc Room was a bit small. Warm fridge. everything is going by computer,if you don't bring the computer you can not stay in this hotel. no one can ask wher to go?. I can not see staff.
