Located in the very heart of the Helsinki center on the fifth floor, it has a nice vintage feel, spotlessly clean rooms, friendly staff and delicious coffee in the mornings. The elevator looks fantastic! Rooms are quiet at night, despite the fact the hostel is in the very city center. You can walk to the hotel from the Helsinki Länsisatama port, no need to take a taxi or pay for public transport.Thanks you for a pleasant stay! Мы с удовольствием остановимся у вас еще!.
all reviews » We had a lovely stay in kongressikoti. The host was very hospitable and friendly. The room was spacious and it came with in-room facilities that make this hostel scores high in value-for-money. It is a small hostel with only about 10 rooms, but the design makes it very homey. We definitely had a pleasant stay. Wonderful place in the heart of the city. St. Nicholas Cathedral - an excellent reference for the return home. Near to the railroad station and close to a Kaisaniemen metro station. Authentic atmosphere 50-60s, the view over the rooftops of the city and pleasant staff. Next time will stay the same. Very good value for money (as Helsinki and Finland in general aren't particularly cheap.). The location is great, in Kruununhaka district, quiet, filled of nice old buildings, and very close from the heart of Helsinki. Tram stop right in front of hostel building. The hostel is nice a very clean. There is only one common shower, but seeing that there aren't that many rooms, it's fine. The price is good, compared to the high Helsinki prices, and the location and very good (only a few minutes walk from the famous church). Excellent location and the fact that the hostel is located in a nice old building, so rooms are charming to my taste; helpful staff so if you principally accept the fact that it's a hostel with shared bathroom this is the best choice. Warm, yet discreet, welcome in what looks more like a private apartment than a formal hotel. The Kongressikoti Hostel was really cosy. The amosphere was old fashioned and Russian.It was the best place to stay on our journey because it made you feel at home!. Location is very central. It was a little difficult to locate the hostel initially, because the signage was very small and easily missed. Fortunately a friendly local helped us to find the hostel. We arrived very early in the morning, so there was no one in the reception to welcome us and give us our room. We had to spend about an hour and a half waiting outside waiting. But that was probably our fault, because if you tell them in advance, someone will probably be there waiting for you. So if you arrive late at night or very early in the morning - be sure to write them an email in advance and let them know, so you won't get stuck outside waiting. The smokers on the balcony. Shared bathroom - but it was known and wasn't a problem. there is only one toilet per gender and one shower, but that was not a problem, because the hostel is really not too big -- just several rooms. We asked to leave our luggage in the hotel on the last day after check out, the said yes, but by the time of picking it up they charged us 4€ per bag, with no prior warning!. bed was too soft for me (. Room has mini fridge and tv that do not seem to work. Should be removed. Wardrobe looks a bit dirty. It is old and beds are a bit uncomfortable. Furniture is a bit old. The room has no private toilet. Nothing. poor wi-fi connection. Only one toilet per gender plus one shower overall, but was ok for us as I think the hostel is not too big. I was afraid to use a lift!!)). Expensive. Staff wasn't the friendliest . . . Also if you are used to ultra modern hostels this isn't the place for you!. A little bit old. 1. VERY old furniture 2. Increased audibility 3. The rooms require repair. a little bit old. perhaps rooms could have a bit more decore (though they were clean) and change the bath towels abit more often. The mattress was not too good, my back didn't enjoy it too much. Absolutely basic. A bit too cold in the bedroom. Only 1 toilet for each sex for all 6 rooms. Could have been made into 2 unisex toilets for all rooms. Shared facilities, though this is a budget hostel.
