It was my second time there and Eurohostel is still good. Breakfast is a buffet with multiple yummy dishes (and I'm a fan of Finnish meatballs). It costs €8.50. I could see Mariella (Viking's ferry) from my room. They have free morning sauna, in the evening you have to pay €7.50 for sauna access card. To reach the hostel, take tram 4 from Mannerheimintie. My friend and I came to Helsinki for the first time and were totally satisfied with the hostel. Location is fine, 24 hour check-in and out, room cleaning every 4 day, common areas are regulary cleaned and fully equipped (fridge, electro stoves and microwave at the kitchen). Sauna is very good.
all reviews » The best thing is that the showers are clean and the hot water is hot enough ) The hostel is close enough to the city centre, but in a quiet place. The staff is friendly and there's enough furniture in the room (not much, but you have everything you need). The room is very big and the environment is nice. Good to have a self service pantry with adequate equipment for cooking. Tram station is just right outside the hostel and also close to the Viking Terminal, thus convenient for onward travel. I was suprised by correlation of price and quality of the hostel. Friendly staff, always ready to help you, clean and comfortable rooms, free morning sauna. Clean and comfortable rooms, the shared bathroom was overall clean, friendly staff, free sauna, good location with supermarkets in the neighbourhood, acces by tramway or just a 10 min walk from the harbor market. I liked location of Eurohostel and additional facilities such as offers of city public transport cards, souvenirs, as well as presence of bar when we had a chance to take meals coming late to hostel. Very clean and good value for single room. Good bar down stairs, the burgers are too die for ! Close to city and in a nice area of helsinki. Shared bathrooms are clean and not too busy. Otherwise, very clean. Wi-fi connection is almost absent! Bad noise isolation in the rooms. It was cold in the room despite it was warm outside. There was dust in the corners of our room (it's not a deadly sin and it's the only shortcoming we could spot). Better to have daily cleaning on rooms and also provide free wifi service to hostel guests. No free wifi (5€/day, wich is way too expensive for today's standards). I did't like that wifi was charged additionally, however the quality of connection was poor. We even could not call via skype. a tv in room but that prob a bit flash for a hostel single i guess. No free internet. ask to be in a room away from the lift. not greatly annoying but if close you may hear the door opening sometimes. Didn't know reservations made through letsbookhotel.com not eligible for 10% hi member discount. Smokers congregated outside our 2nd floor window, so we couldn't leave window open. Better if smokers moved to side of building. The dryer in the bathroom was broken. That I could not buy just a sandwich or a piece of bread for breakfast so I did not have breakfast in the hostel. sauna is too small bike rent is too expensive wi-fi is not free. no free Wi-Fi. Need to make bed by my own, but it's more my laziness not a disadvantage:D. I don't like envy People always watch your back. Breakfast not good in a city which has great breakfast food. Go to the supermarket 7 min walk. Some guest inconsiderate talking loud at 5am, need clearer signs asking people to be quite but not the hostel's fault. Dirty shared shower rooms and toilets. No tv. sound insulation is not very good. Thin walls - wasn't much of a issue for us but if we were next to someone really noisy it would have been a problem. You can hear people in the next room talking..... Internet access paid. rather cold in a room. Location is not near of the centre, you have to walk about 20 min. separate shower. the breakfast. closet kitchen at night not very clean refrigerator, tables and someone's dirty crockery in the kitchen automatic switch-off light in the toilet. expensive wi-fi. Shared Bathroom. The room was missing the Internet. dont have kettle in kitchen. Breakfast not included. Wi Fi was very unstable.
