the hotel was very clean also central to transport shops we enjoyed our stay and will stay and recommend the union square plaza hotel. Value for money. The beds and pillows were wondefully comfortable. The desk staff (manned 24hrs/day) were all very nice and knowledgable. There was always lots of hot water available. The bathrooms were very well kept up. The location was good and it made it easy to get around the city, especially when walking. It was great to have a coffee shop two doors away.all reviews »
Spacious, comfortable, clean and well serviced room. Proximity to all venues and transport to enable a very enjoyable visit to San Francisco. Staff were excellent and very helpful. The value for money, localization. place is very convenient. This hotel was excellent for the price! We payed 55 a night, the room was very clean and lovely. A true bargain. Location was perfect; one of the better streets in that area and really close to everything. We were worried about cleaniness / location when we booked (based on reviews) but we were absolutely delighted! Highly recommended! (although yes, streetnoise is loud, and it's SF: bums everywhe. The corridors could do with a bit of paint and new carpets. Our room needed a good paint job.It was too noisy because it just located beside the street and don'thave a proper window.. The bathroom is too small..but what to bame? Theprice is worth for this.. ^^ not bad.. Could hear noise from the street all night and the bed was uncomfortable.The stinky smell on the corridors. lobby was very small, and did not feel very welcome. Most rooms have a lot of noise from varied sources (street, restaurants etc). If you are a very light sleeper then you may want to ask for a room facing the alley way on the lower floors. Dead bolt malfunctioned and I was trapped in my room. I had to call the front desk to have someone come fix the door so I could get out.
Very loud trash pickup under my window at 5:30am. Comfortable but in need of interior upgrade eg paint peeling off the ceiling.No hair cleaning products that are normally available in hotels. Soap provided was not of good quality. The corridors were rather shabby, but the room was much better,. Old fashioned. Have never seen such a small shower room / toilet combination - but it worked. There was no air conditioning in our room. The routine of the local council emptying the garbage bins very noisily at 02.00 on alternate mornings was 'unfortunate'.The hotel is old but the renovation was adequate. The hotel could really use new carpeting in the hallways and painting also. The rooms were small but the furnishings were new and adequate for a short stay. If you are not lookin g to take up residence for a long time this hotel is good for a short few day stay. Yes, the internet did not work. No air condition, hot on afternoons. Hotel is very old and has not been renovated. But the price is right.
