I absolutely LOVED everything! It was beautiful from the moment I first saw it, before I even walked inside. It was so easy to get to from BART and in a perfect location. The entire staff was sincerely friendly, kind, helpful and seemed to only know how to say "Yes, of course we can". The room was outstanding, clean, light, comfortable with a beautiful view. I will recommend staying there to all of my friends and family and I look forward to staying there again in the future.
all reviews » location was good but if you go two blocks over it gets a little rough. wine and snack hour wasn't bad for free but in SF who wants to drink just decent wine? staff was very nice and value for big city hotel in decent location on a BUSY wknd was excellent. I liked the location of the hotel, perfect for getting around centrally to Union Square, China town, etc. Also the complimentary wine between 5-6pm was a nice touch. Rooms comfy and spacious except bathroom which a little cramped around sink area. Loved the location. Rooms were very clean & tidy. Staff very friendly & helpful, meals downstairs were fantastic, overall loved our stay. They even allowed us to change our dates due to the accident at SF Airport. Exceptional service ++. They were so helpful, dog friendly, central to everywhere. The breakfast was fantastic, they'd a spa around the corner in their sister hotel Monaco. It was a street and a half to union sq. there were some good quick restaurants around the corner. Hotel has great location, very close to Union Square. We got promoted to Club level, room was spacious (comparing to other hotels in San Francisco). Breakfast was excellent! Staff was extremely nice and helpful. The location is amazing for exploring San Francisco - especially for us as first-timers. General decor very nice and our room was comfortable. Complementary cocktails each afternoon also appreciated!. The hotel is located close to Union Square. Everything is else, Chinatown, the wharf is within walking distance. These were charged to our room, was not happy so be warned no to drink these without checking first! Also left my ring by accident whilst using their public toilet in hotel on first floor, I have emailed and faxed but have heard nothing at all from hotel to acknowledge. Parking/valet charges were high, on top of an already expensive room rate. Nothing really. There really wasn't anything we didn't like. In somewhat of a shady area with a lot of homeless. The beds were not comfortable. The room was very small. No complaints. The Deluxe Queen room is small, but we still had plenty of room to relax. I found nothing to dislike about this hotel!. Breakfast is appalling. Terrible, even the coffee is vile. The fire alarm going off in the middle of the night one night and no apology from the staff was not good either. I had difficulty phoning room service and the reception because of something about the phone. Also, that the internet was not complimentary and you could not pay by the hour or two hours, but had to pay for a day. Also, breakfast could have been complimentary. Postrio ran out of Anchor Steam beer both times I stoppped in. In SF you need to have the local beer on hand. The coffee in the morning wasn't great. The restaurant was a café with a schizo menu. Certainly not up to Kimpton Standards. We did not order anything, but left upon reviewing the menu the night we arrived. We have been all over the world in many countries with variying food situations, some fine restaurants and some greasy spoons with memorable great food, but never in such a let-down situation. Kimpton might as well close the café as to call it a restaurant. No downsides to my one-night stay. Can't complain about anything. View from window. Great for business but a bit far from most touristy things. Expensive, especially wifi and parking if you have a car. Complimentary breakfast a bit limited. The hotel's decor needs refurbishment. The room (king suite) and common areas felt tired and worn. Nothing. The inclusive breakfast was not very imaginative. Would have preferred a room that looked out on Post rather than at a brick wall. The pillows were way too HARD. I wanted to order room service and it ended at 10 pm, it will be nice that room Service close later like 12 or 1 am or better to have a little menu 24 hr. The Club Level room location is very confusing since we had to take two elevators to get there. The decor especially in rooms is outdated. Rooms are extremely small. Breakfast was not fully ready at 6.45 so we had slim pickings. Had to go downstairs every morning for a coffee as they had no facility in room. Bit small for a family of 4. Maybe a little expensive (but that's San Francisco); rooms could be a bit bigger.
