We were making a round trip of the US West and spending a weekend in SF (June 22 to 24). Slightly shocked with the hotel rates, we picked this one as it was more or less reasonably priced (still > 100 USD per night) and had free parking (evidently hard to find in SF) and WiFi. We expected nothing more than a basic accommodation, and it was, but our room was clean and we had a fridge, microwave and a coffeemaker. Two guys at the office were friendly and helpful and the location was just fanta.
all reviews » My mom and I went to San Fransisco for just one night. When we started looking at hotels we got really overwhelmed. Everything was so expensive with poor reviews. Except this place. The reviews were decent. And we were so happy we chose it. It was extremely easy to find, parking was free, the staff was very nice and friendly, and the room was very clean. We actually had a great view of the city from our room. And it's close to the palace of fine arts and the marina, so it's an easy and safe pla. The staff was extremely friendly. They were willing to go out of their way to help us. The room was much, much better than I had expected for that price- clean, comfortable and a nice bathroom. One may think otherwise if they look at the building from outside. But once I stepped inside the room, I felt I had made the right choice. Tea and coffee were readily available as well. Close to wherever I wanted to go, and in a safe and clean part of the city, I absolutely loved everything about Knights. Ash, the manager was the loveliest host you could wish for. Friendly, kind, accommodating and very helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. Its on a busy road, but once the windows and doors are shut it was very quiet. Good location, right near the Marina area and local buses. Really excellent value for money and excellent people who work there! From The Princesses (our every wish was granted, thanks Ash!) xx. Ash is a nice man. He waited for us until 9:30 at night and gave us a warm welcome. He was very careful. The room is clean and well facilitated with microwave and refrigerater. The hotel is close to the Palace of fine art and beach and golden gate bridge. Excellent location close to the Golden Gate Bridge promenade, good bus connections with the rest of the city. Very friendly staff. The room was simple but comfortable and big. If I ever find myself in San Francisco again, I will definitely stay there. Hash & Susan were perfect hosts; they went out of their way to accommodate us. The room was cozy & clean. The location was also, perfect, with in a bus ride to any part of the city, and a brisk walk to the gg Bridge. The bed was amazing. We had a refrigerator and a coffee maker. The rooms are clean and nice, location is not very central but still nice and close to public transportation which is much needed in san francisco because of all the crazy hills :) There's free parking!! The room had its quirks like turning on the heat hitting a reset button, turning on the shower by pressing the water valve but it was a fair value and decent room. I loved that we were close to the bus stop and lots of cafes are close by. I liked the man behind the counter. He was personable and he was very helpful with telling us where to go and what bus to take. The owner is super nice and is doing everything to make your stay perfect, although take into account that it is still a motel.. The area is very nice pubs and resturants close by. None Really, no complaints. This is an older motor motel, with all the amenities; clean, and very conveniently located. No second lock on the door but it was fine. Nothing to complain about! Some might find it a little loud, but hey, you're in a city!. Stiff bed. Outside of motel is dated and cheap looking. beds were a bit hard for our taste,while pillows were perfectly soft. Wish they have elevators for my disabled friend.. Nothing, we were happy. Ash was so polite and nice!!!. a little expensive; No Print bill. Loud people next door at 1am laughing and talking by our door. Not enough outlets, not even for the alarm clock they supply; parking was tight, just getting into the lot with an SUV was a challenge. Don't leave the windows open... Can be loud if you do. The room was not clean when we arrived. Carpet in bedroom very dirty, mattress protector dirty and well past its best. Bottom sheet not fitted and too small, white towels off color. The noise- the walls are very thin so sound transmits (I could hear the guest in the next room snoring through the night!) The hotel is located at a major intersection of roads so a horrendous sound of traffic greets guests on arrival but this does become tolerable during the night. The unit "smells" because of the very old carpets. Perhaps a fresh paint can also improve things. Also, given the quality, the price was far too high. Parking was frustrating and the key cards on the door had a 1 in 5 chance of actually working to open the door. Exterior was very dirty and needed painting.
