The staff were so friendly and welcoming and all, especially the concierge Ray, went out of their way to help. We felt genuinely welcomed and appreciated the insider tips on using a Munipass or finding a good place to eat. The hotel was great for a peaceful night's sleep without traffic noise and within walking distance of Crissy Fields and sunset at the Golden Gate Bridge. Excellent public transport to Fisherman's Wharf or city centre. It was also great value for money.
all reviews » The staff were excellent: friendly and helpful and were able to give us great tips. The cookies were a huge hit with the children and the access to hot tea ( something not so common in USA) was wonderful! The hotel was quiet and although the eating area for breakfast is small, there was never a problem finding somewhere to sit and eat. Having parking was also excellent. The room was clean and as expected, WiFi worked well (no captive portal). Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Raymond did a great job drawing all the bus lines on the map and giving helpful tips for sightseeing (thanks again!). The hotel is located at the quiet end of Lombard St. and close to multiple bus stops. The staff are the best - seriously, the night I arrived I had a bit of a cough and was offerred a cough lozenge; now that's looking after people. Location is good: Many bus-lines just stop some steps away - any location in San Fran can easily be reached by bus. Breakfast- room is a bit too small - only three tables available. No traffic noise. The hotel was good but the staff in the first day when we arrived was not nice. The location is very good it is possible walk to the place that the boat depart to Alcatraz or take a bus. There is also no laundry onsite, so you have to go a fair way to one nearby (can be tricky to park). Would still recommend this for a family or a group. Not enough parking slots for all guests available. Walls to neighbouring rooms seem very thin => noisy. The price is high - but maybe the level in San Fran is generally something higher than elsewhere. Frisco is to crowdy and expensive (even the hotels). Manhattan is crowdy but never like this. And we really don't like the Americans ideas about having we floor covered with carpets in the roll. It feels bacteria collecting. Especially when the humidity is soo high. Nothing to complaint about the hotel except the price. Small bathroom but adequate. The breakfast could be a bit better with waffels or toast or yoghurt. That was the only dissapointment. I could have enjoyed just a toast with jelly or butter, but they did'nt offer that. The carpet in the room (old). Nothing was exactly as described. Nothing. Like many travelodges in the USA it is looking faded and is in need of a revamp. needed cleaning up a bit externally. but to be fare there were serious roadworks nearby,creating a lot of dust. How about some bread to toast & bagels. breakfast not up to much after first day did nt bother going again. The climate system is very noisy. Parking is always overloaded. The smell in the room, a little bit like smell of disinfectant , is terrible. The space was small. If you went to get out of the shower...you hit the door on the sink. The edges of the carpet had a layer of dust around the room. The room upstairs sounded like they were hearding buffalo all 3 nights. The breakfast, the small room and the parking (which was for whoever comes first).
