This hotel was well located within walking distance of Times Sqaure and also near to the main subway and bus routes which could take you around Manhattan and the rest of New York city. Facilities were just right when you consider that we only used the hotel for rest as we were constantly outside exploring the city. . The hotel was in an excellent location, the staff were very helpful and my room was clean and comfortable.
all reviews » The rooms are well appointed. I have stayed in a regular queen room twice, and a corner king once. If you can get a good rate, go for the corner king which has more room, a nice sitting , and a huge tub in addition to the shower. All of the essential amenities are in the room including a well stocked mini-bar, great bathroom amenities,etc.All of the beds and pillows are extremely comfortable. Lobby very open and friendly, Resturant very convenient in lobby. Service very nice.staff very accomodating, upgraded our room as it was our anniversary. when problems were encountered they were very willing to make up for it with complimentary breakfast and changing our room. closeness to the heart of the city, ease of transportation and good location on both sides. Interesting vintage decor. front desk staff are really nice and helpful. And the location is good. It is very close to time square and major Broadway theaters.It was good to have staff to help you with restaurant bookings and info on trains etc. It is ok.Nice location and a quiet room towards the yard. Location. location. location. the only thing I liked about my stay at the hotel was it's convenience to time square and it was very quiet at night and we had clean towels ever everyday. i have choosen the hotel on the fair value for the whole of my stay it was convinient for me where the hotel is located. I did not like the room. That was the only place I saw of the hotel. Nothing in particular. location. Location. nothing almost . just 1 thing you need a drinks m/c in hotel. the room they have given us was pretty bad and very small but when we asked abt it they said u booked it from booking.com it would be like that and also when we asked for better room they upgraded it and charged 30$ more for each room. Staff was bit okay. . renovations caused problems with plumbing, heating and there was ongoing noise. non notification of repair works even when mentioned was offered an alterative room. Room was a little tired, could do with a lick of paint. the standard room was a little bit small for 2 ppl.I felt the room was far too small. Also the hotel was going through renovations and i was not told of this. No wifi or internet via cable in the room. A bit dirty and worn. Would more be a 3 star accommodation in Sweden. . I found that for guests wifi shall be free. Another thing is that once you check out, you even have to pay USD 2 for leaving your bags for a short period of time. It feels that you are nobody once you have checked out.... very small room. view was on to a brick wall. weird furnishings in lobby. a strange half light in the lobby and corridors.There was no room available at my arrival. I had to go to another hotel, that was far below the quality of the Paramount. The compensation prosposed was not respected. I was charged a night via my credit card without my approval. I am filing a complaint with American Express to be credited for that amount. The room I was given was tiny and I was hugely disappointed by this. Room itself was very tired and bathroom was far from my expectations. size of room. They charge 60$ for hair dryer which costs 20$ (I bought one). Facilities were old and janitor should check the premises more often. In our room you couldnÂ´t close bathrooms door otherwise you were locked in. Also the handle of the room door was almost detached. Also the minibar was not to be used (they did not give us the key). The explanation was that there will be new minibars within couple of weeks. I still have not found the logic in that...We had concerns about the cleanliness of the room. It seems clean at first glance but in details - corners, carpet, under the air conditioner it was dusty and not clean at all. The hotel location is very good but the room was too noisy. The air conditioning was very noisy also! The room equipment was old!. room size. small and old room. The hotel was under construction while we stayed there. We had to move two times, cause of the loud noise and a water damage. We got a discount but still it was time-killing! Also the comfort of the beds in the three rooms was not the same. Having to pay for storing each piece of my luggage. The first time I have ever had to do this.first room given was too small and really filthy. As I complained I received a much better room. I liked the reception and the breakfast room, the people was helpfull and kind. Price-Value. small bathroom. The rooms appear to be a bit shabby.I didn't like the dullness of the hotel and our room could have been cleaned a bit better. i stayed there many years ago and since then the hotel droped in service and the rooms were really not in a good shape a bit rocked down if i would have payed the high price dureing the whole stay i would have choosen other locations the hotel cant compare with soho grand etc still for the whole stay it was fair value staff could be more friendly. the room. I did not like it at all. It was too small for the price. The bed was almost at the floor. The bathroom was too small. THe toilet was sideways...Not accesible for use. The spacing and distribution of furniture was terrible. The Tv set was small... NO space at all for the price.. A very noisy foyer. Scaffolding outside our room which we were not told about. Porters pushing for tips. Not advised that we had to pay for temporary luggage storage.Smallest, scruffiest room I have ever stayed in - a double bed with12-24" around it. Cheap bed linen. No attempt whatsoever to make the room welcoming. An ironing board in the hanging cupboard - nice thought but no space to put it up. Thats how small the room was ! In 42 years of globe trotting this was the worse room ever encountered and the rate charged was an insult. Not enought staff, queues at reception constantly. Poor value overall.When I made the booking the first room they took me in was more like astorage room. Very small and poor. I was "forced" to pay 30$ extra toget an upgrade to a descent room. Thats my only compaint. Thanks. lifts not working, rooms not clean, decor tired and grubby. all in all a hotel past its best and slipping into becoming a pit. Rooms are appalling and standard of maintenance is extremely poor, I would not stay there again.Small, dated and dirty. This hotel was the worst in all hotels where i have ever stayed. Hotel men were unfriendly and unpleased. Room was small, not so clean, old, there are even no coffee maker. Only location was good.
