We didn't want a fancy marbled floored reception with a fountain at twice the price - we wanted a value for money bed for the night to discover New York there are more expensive hotels that still received poor ratings -. all reviews »
staff was absolutely awesome. they always tried to help and cared a lot about our safety and comfort,they are always smiling and greeting guests... the room was cleaned everyday and breakfast was good enough. best for that price. especially young people should consider to stay. Great location and the staff was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful with all we needed.That the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very helpful.The convenient location. close to everywhere....great hotel staff. The Manager of the Hotel is an excellent person. Ready to help at anytime and to assist guests. The staff very kind, polite. The location is perfect, 8th avenue, very close to Times Square. Localization excellent.the hotel is heart of manhattan,all famous places are very nearly by walking. We had an executive room with freezer and microwave. We had problems locking our windows though, but stuff was friendly and we could change the room. I liked the location. Only a short walking distance from Times Square andseveral subway stations. Clean bathroom (but icky toilet seat). Eventhough on 8th Avenue, we couldn't hear the street noise. Easy and fastcheck-in and check-out. If you prefer a good location over comfort, thehotel is okay. Staff was okay, location was good. but i would never stay in this hotel again.5 min. walk from Times Square and subway. The location of the hotel was great. the hotel location. Nothing, not even the fact that they gave us a complementary breakfast.After the first night I left to another Hotel. The room was terrible. Small, dirty and cockroaches. Noisy and smelly. Checked out the first day. Location was goog. the worse hotel i ever stayed.never never again.Nothing. In my room were mouses. The bathrooms in the rooms were micro in size and had no space foranything..no shelf, cabinet,--- barely room to turn around! Thinkfunctional and reasonable for the accomodations.On first viewing the room it did come as a bit of a shock - but for the location and description of budget - it was fair comment.
It was more basic than I was expecting - with no storage for clothes. Not really suitable for long stay holiday's The breakfast (subway special) was not worth getting up for - so we didn't - I would forget this offer altogether. a little noisy since subway passing under the hotel. very old hotel. and there is something in the bed which causes itching. may be the covers of the beds needs renovation. still such a lovely hotel:). The oly thing that we didnt like was that it dindnt have a elavator and the room that they give us was at the last floor wich was a lot of stair. The breakfast was awful...Could be upgraded and made nicer. The rooms are very small and the bathrooms as well. The hotel does not have any lift to carry lagguages. The Hotel need to improve the heat system.Could improve the hotel overall look. no lift, small bathroom. It`s impossible to stay at the fourth floor without elevator/lift. I can't say I would recommend the hotel to to others (see followingquestion) but I will definitely consider using it again for myself.Cleanliness is a bit of a problem (especially very dirty curtains) eventhough I always found bedding and towels clean. Packing space is anothersmall problem. Written indications on how to work the hot-cold showerare necessary.Bathroom curtains. Much noise and a mouse in our room. Room smelled like cigarette smoke; loud music in the next door SubWay shop where breakfast was served in the morning. Window in first Hotel didn't lock, and a drunk lady tried to break into our room (no joke). So make sure your windows lock.The hotel is old and the first impression is of a run down building. The carpets and stairs looks as if a handyman fitted it. Serious renovation needs to be done. room too small. it is very shabby. loose cables everywhere in the room and the shower leaked into the room. no lift. Everything. My room was not very good. There were many things to fix. small rooms, small bathroom, no closet. Very tiny room; nasty ceiling (like something was emptied out...); nowlan; no solid doors and locks - someone could easily break into theroom; unattractive and narrow stairway (don't bring big and heavysuitcases ;-)); betimes problems with hot and cold water - and the waterpipe made weird and loud noises sometimes. I am wondering again what can be called "hotel" in NYC and the prices. I would recommend everybody who can afford to spend (even) more $.it was a crazy room. Very small old room, unsafe bathroom. It was poorly maintained, and the bathroom/shower was small. the room was quite small and dirty. the rooms were very very ordinary, no pictures on the internet, run down, small, had to put my feet in the shower while on the toilet, then had to stand in the shower to wash my hands!!!!. We stayed for 3 nights and each night we had to stay in a different room because the rooms were so small and the bathrooms were so inadequate. Also fire safety was very worrying, basically no escape even though it was indicated.It was infested with cockroaches!!!!!. Less than a hotel, dirty, discard. everything. The hotel is too old to make me feel comfortable. Rooms are small and have a bad smell. The lock of the door needed repaired when we just checked in. Inserting a credit card to the lock, we were supprised to find out the door open! We had to change our roon on the second day.We didn´t liked it at all!! There was only a reception, the entree was very small and looked very poor. We stayed at the frontsite of the hotel at the street on the first floor. Very noisy. The room looked old and smelled very clean but it wasn´t. The bathroom was no bathroom but more the size of a toilet. And the worst of all, we had a mouse in our room! So we´ve checked out the day after.
