Had a great stay at Burswood Guest House, the attention to detail was first class, down to dressing gowns, slippers, chocolates and real napkins (not the usual paper serviettes) The breakfast was excellent a great selection of fruit and a lovelly cooked breakfast. There was a bus stop nearby which took the strain of parking in the city centre away and a great pub nearby. It was a pleasure to meet the owners, George and Maureen, they ensured we had a comfortable stay.
all reviews » What a fantastic place to stay! This was a two night treat weekend at the races for my father in law and did he get a treat, as we did also! It was like staying in a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was better than most top business hotels I have stayed in across Europe. The attention to detail in the bedrooms and the dining room was fantastic. George the owner is a lovely guy and the service is second to none. Very nice rooms, comfortable and clean. The breakfast is the best we've had in any B&B, or Hotel for that matter, with lots of choice. The B&B is only a 30 min stroll to the City wall (Also easy to hop on a bus). The pub next door has a good atmosphere and good food (for a chain), most importantly had a choice of real ales ;-). George & Maureen are the most delightful couple! It felt like we were staying with family! They run the cosiest of guest houses, with well appointed rooms, have the most perfectly manicured back garden complete with an endless variety of flora & fauna. The personal touch of these two completely makes this place to stay!. Great B&B to stay at in York! Very friendly owner, and absolutely fantastic breakfast. Clean, bright comfortable bedrooms, and nice recently renovated en-suite with a large shower. Lovely food and real ales in the pub/restaurant next door too. Garden flowers were beautiful to see as well. Highly recommended. The hosts were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Their pleasure was in ensuring your comfort. The breakfasts were superb and the facilities excellent. Linen etc was spotless. Every need catered for in terms of rooms. Easy access to city and surrounding areas. Lovely room.
