it was new years eve .we shopped ate and went into town for the local night life.we visited the museum and skating rink and had a wonderful time. The place was clean and comftable and is situated in a quite road but still close to the town centre. we were late in arriving and asked for some takeaway numbers and got them without any hessitation. It was quiet comfortable and handy for the city centre.
all reviews » Great!!!. The location we could walk into the city centre. We found the staff welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We were upgraded to a fantasic room. We had a good rest because the bed was really comfortable and the hotel was very quiet.The room was also very warm, clean and had everything we required from an iron to a hairdryer and it was tastefully decorated (very modern). We would definately return.Staff friendly and informative, breakfast was good only thing would suggest was to give an alternative to marmalade for toast, private parking facilities, good sized rooms, huge bathroom. Lovely friendly place and close to the town centre.Near Town Center. Room very clean and comfortable. Locality. We liked the en-suite facilities and how quiet it was. It was a quiet hotel in general which was peaceful. The breakfast in the morning was nice although another racher of bacon would have been nice!. Very friendly and helpful staff. It is nothing more than a B and B.Breakfast Menu was good. nothing good location and excellent value. Nothing. The breakfast was great but it would have been better if it was served a little later amaybe until 10.00am as we overslept and missed breakfast one morning during our stay.traffic noise if room at front of hotel. The bedding was a little too annoying as there were 4 layers to it. A whole quilt or thicker blanket would have been better.The bathroom was rather cramped and the shower was not very powerful so having a wash took longer the you would expect. Not much space in the bathroom and shower was useless.Hot water tap not working in bathroom and poor shower. Unable to open window, so room was quite stuffy.Room on the small size but clean. Sliding door to the ensuite bathroom was broken. We were in room one next to the front entrance, friday night there wasloud music coming from downstairs in the basement where I presumed theowners lived, you could here them talking until the early hours of themorning. Then on saturday night, the music was even louder, we couldhere people swearing and talking to the dogs after over an hour I bangedon the floor and it seemed to go quiet for. Creaky stairs and the floor boards in the room. Could possibly do with modernisation but was comfortable nevertheless. the noise at night from the road doesnt say its on a busy road when u book it. the early times for breakfast.1st morning had to wait for a table as it has a small dining area. Poor space and dated ensuite. Very noisy no insulation. Also this is not a hotel but a bed and breakfast. Duvet cover looked grubby. cobwebs on the bedroom ceiling, filthy lavatory brush, sharing one hairdryer. We thought the staff were a little abrupt. There was no one on reception duties so we had to ring a bell and felt like we were wrong in doing so. We had a two year old boy but we in the room at the top of the house. A lot of stairs. The childrens amenities in the back yard of the hotel were poor and our son fell over many times on the concrete.It wasn't a relax time at all.Even we couldn't sleep during the night.Floors are too noisy when people are walking and there is no insulation and no double glazing. Needs decorating, Needs cleaning and general updating. Only 1 towel per guest. Shower hardly any water and went from boiling to freezing. No hairdryer. You have to borrow one from reception and then it kept cutting out due to overheating. Curtains hanging off the rail as had no silicon on them and previous guests had yanked them to close/open. New carpet on stairs - good but, as a result, no fire door would close. Half hour walk to the town. Bad Heating, was turned off most of the time, was told it would be put on it was not, very cold, room by front door.
