I loved the ambiance of staying on the boat. the bar on the top gave great views and breakfast was very good. Also the reading room was quite nice .The location was wonderful. Walkable to alot of Stockholm and we could jump on at 3 different train stations within 10 minute walk. Also the staff was excellent. We had the owners suite with 4 adults and the set up of having the bathroom divided into 3 rooms (toilet in one, sink and hand shower in one and large shower room in third) was great .
all reviews » Great location: the rooms with the river view (ask for them!) have an amazing and romantic view on the Old City (Gamla Stan). Location is perfect to explore the city. We tried the standard twin-Hostel cabin: small as expected (it's a boat!) but still very comfortable and very clean. The shared bathrooms and showers are in good number, big and super-clean: never needed to wait in 5 days! Common kitchen very functional, clean and with great view as well! Staff is helpfull and bikes rental con. The room was tiny, but this is how it works in Stockholm. It wasn't your typical dungy type of boat, where it's cold and you can smell the build up of growth on the walls etc. The staff was great, very, very friendly and helpful. By far the most friendly staff on any of the boats in Stockholm, and I have stayed on all of them. Price was decent, about as best as you can get in the city center for your own room. I have no real complaints about this hotel and will be staying there again. When booking this property, one has to remember that it is an older boat moored on the waterfront. We booked the "Mate's" room and loved it. It would have been nice to have had a kettle for tea. Great to have wifi included. There is a residents' lounge on the main boat which was great! After visiting the sites of Stockholm, do go up the hill to the area behind the hotel where there are many cafés, grocery stories and shops. It is a lovely residential area. If you wish to stay in the centre if Stockholm, you cannot have a better location. The view on the lake Mälaren and the city from the boat is absolutely great. In an expensive place like Stockholm, Rygerfjord is excellent value for money, if one is prepared to put up with the tiny rooms and spartan conditions. The staff was very helpful, it was clean and nice, and the bar on the deck was pleasant indeed! Highly recommended, and I had a great time. Location is very nice. Old Town is placed in approximately 10 minutes walk from hotel. I liked a beautiful view from the deck. I had really good time sitting at the deck, drinking wine from hotel bar and looking at the sunset over Melaren lake. Also I liked a large shelf in my room, the hall with a lot of books and TV, and staff was really nice and friendly (two girls were even speaking Russian). friendly staff, unique experience being a boat, comfortable and relaxing common room with great views of Gamla Stan etc and a great big TV. Breakfast was excellent and reasonably priced. Great location with it geographically located equidistant between Gamla Stan and the centre of Sodermalm. Amazing power showers although a little pokey. Really unique experience getting to stay on a boat in Stockholm - the staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. In the evening you can sit on the deck, have a drink and see the city. The beds were comfortable and the room for the most part was quiet. Particularly impressed with the staff, who were extremely friendly, helpful and relaxed. As a former ferry, the hotel/hostel has great character & some 'ship' features like a wood-panelled lounge and tables & chairs on the decks. From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and plenty of it! You can also hire bikes from the boat which was great fun. We would definitely go back. Friendly, helpful staff, really nothing was too much trouble for them. Location on the water with great city views. Very cleverly laid out room, which would be a squeeze for 2 people unless they were both agile.. the view over the city on the deck is to die for, just marvellous ! the room may be tiny, but it's a cabin and it's not a surprise. everything is at least functioning. very friendly and helpful staff as well. It was a unique experience staying on a boat in a tiny cabin. The only down-side for us is that we are a tall family and my husband at 6'4" could not stand up in the shower room/toilet but we decided that it was a small price to pay for staying in such a quirky unusual hotel!. I'm afraid the ship is somehow fixed from the bottom, as you couldn't feel the swinging of the ship at all, which compromises the feeling of staying on a ship, really... and some rooms are not facing the waterside, which is much less fun. A bit far from the station. Bed rather hard - campers would be used to that. not really a big issue but you do hear quite clearly what other people are talking about next 'door', but hey, it's a boat!. Maybe a fan or something inside the cabin for air. The room was small, but that's what I expected. They have a kitchen on board, but it's only available to those who stay at the hostel rooms and we stayed in a "hotel room". nothing really. Everything in Stockholm is expensive. Breakfast good but dinner was basic so eat out but I would stay there again. It could be very noisy if you have the misfortune to meet scarce respectful neighbours. The curtains were slightly see-though letting some light in during the night which was a little hard to sleep with. Because of the design of the sink, using it made the bathroom floor wet. Of course, rooms are pretty small (it's a boat!) even, the captains cabin which I had. Fine for a short stay. Shame that the bar was 2 flights of stairs down from the seating deck. The cabins are small, so if you want space this isnt for you. But that is all part of the boat experience. Buffet breakfast was rather poor. cabins are very small, toilet didn't always work properly and it had to be fixed twice during our stay. Room admittedly was small and steps inside the boat are steep. But that can be expected if you choose to stay on a ship. The rooms and toilets are pretty small. I was in Stockholm only 3 days (. my room was way too small :(. How low the top bunk was to the lower bunk. If you turn over in the night it is very easy to hit yourself on the top bunk. Very small room. Tiny room. The first day we stayed on boat n°3, the door of the boat has holes all around so it was really cold in the hallway (not nice when you have to go to the bathroom) + the room was incredibly cold, even if we put the heater to the max. We couldn't sleep even though we both had 3 pullovers on + 2 blankets. There was also a noise due to the boat hitting the other boat. My advice is: do not stay on boat n°3!. Some noises during the night from the other rooms (maybe sex noises). Room very small, but we can't ask more on a boat!. Room and Bathroom was quite small, although I expected this from previous posts. For 1 person it was fine although if more it may be a bit cramped. A bit noisy at night since near is a pretty busy road, no fridge or kitchen. There was some vibration in the boat causing the lampshade and mirror in the room to make a noise which kept me awake. So I ended up taking them off.
