Location, location, location! After driving the Ring of Kerry, we spent a lovely time walking the gardens and woods of Muckross House park, so it was a short and easy drive to Ardree House. Being just three blocks from Killarney city center, it was an easy walk to restaurants. Staff was excellent, at check-in offering to switch us to ground floor room to save us from lugging suitcases upstairs and at breakfast, where it seemed we had three servers taking care of us! all reviews » The location is very convenient to the city centre and only a short walk for pubs, cafes, restaurants and other shopping. It's a good base for the drive around the Ring of Kerry. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful with their local knowledge. Plenty of choice at breakfast made for a sumptuous start to the day. The room (triple) was quite large, and had plenty of space for our luggage (even with a baby cot set up). The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Location was great for seeing the Ring of Kerry, and for walking into the city center of Killarney. Large room, nice updated bathroom. Very friendly owners. Nice atmosphere. Breakfast was good. And Clean (very important). I wish we could have stayed longer and plan to return in the Spring (and stay at Andree House). The hotel owners were so friendly. They gave helpful hints to attractions as well as allowed us to hang out longer than nr check out time since our flight was later that day. The food was phenomenal!. Overly large room (we had a double + single) compared to average B&B's. ample parking. Easy walk to town. Breakfast offered waffles & pancakes in addition to traditional breakfast choices. Although the room was nice, I would not describe it as "recently refurbished" as was stated in the description (the decor and tv seemed somewhat outdated and there was water damage on the ceiling). Bathroom window was left open and when we tried to turn up the heat after closing it, we had no control over it. Didn't matter (as much as it could have) because we got there late and went straight to bed. Heat kicked on in the AM. Not much to say bad except I had a hard time getting the heater to stay on. Could have been operator error but our heater didn't hear during the chilly night. Luckily there were extra blankets in the closet. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. no breakfast in price when booking with letsbookhotel.com, not really the b & b's fault but its the same price if you ring and get it off them to include breakfast.but it is a b&b and the price you should really get breakfast thought they could have offered it as we used the place many times before. The noise for the road, its on the main muckross road and its always busy. Bathroom was a bit pokey. no complains. nothing. everything was ok. The sign was unclear due to How it was written Very pretty Close up but difficult from the road when driving. Safe did not work by using combination but we were given a key which was fine Telephone in the room did not work either. nothing negative to say about this place. The colour of the water in the bath!. internet did not work. lack of car parking, long walk to car. We had an attic room which was tiny and with a relatively uncomfortable double bed. It just seemed that 45 euro per person was a bit much for that tiny room. We were one of the people who booked the room when there were only a couple rooms left. But it seems that this room should be a bit less expensive than the larger rooms downstairs. It was still clean and pleasant, just seemed a bit expensive for what it was. Price high for what it was. Nothing was explained to us. Bath had rusty water coming out of it. I was expecting more of a friendly homey vibe, did not get that at all. Absent of cold water in shower, very cold in the room. Owners save electricity.
