Enjoyed every minute...upgraded to the luxury suite and certainly worth it...waking up with a view of the Mcgillicuddy Reeks, wow! Any complaints about the lack of tea/coffee facilites are wasted, head downstairs and use the excellent facilities. Excellent, professional, courteous and friendly staff, who treated us like family. Terrific breakfast. Great pool, not crowded. Room big and comfortable. (Double)Bed huge. Overall, I have seldom stayed in a better hotel.

The room was large and well appointed. the staff were especially helpful and the room was very comfortable. staff were most helpful without being intusive. tours all over Ireland a wonderful place to be. rooms spacious and food excellent. Comfortable hotel, with very good breakfast. By the fire in the lounge is a great place to unwind...whether it be poring over a newspaper/book or just dozing off! Gorgeous antiques throughout. Our stay wasn't long enough to take in the leisure facilities/spa. Bathroom in our room could have done with a revamp (a bit tired) but spotlessly clean.everything, room upgrade on arrival, decor excellent, staff courteous and room very comfortable. excellent location too. I do not stay at retirement homes.I felt I should have been informed that the first floor rooms were being refurbished as I specificallyrequested a first floor room for an elderly person. A phone call would have been appropriate in the circumstances. Decor in our room was a bit tired but I believe some others have been revamped.parking a little tight on second night. no kettle in the room.room much too hot. We stayed mid february and the only crib that we had was that the room should have been better heated as we booked in advance. Having said that we never mentioned this to the staff, to have sorted out, so we are partly to blame.Lift needs to be updated. There should be bottled water in the room. while comfortable its over priced both in the rates and the bar food. The staff confused the order at dinner on the first evening, however when the food arrived it was excellent. Hotel needs a gym and elevator needs updating. Reception area staff could have been more helpfull. I was there with my mother and a friend of my mothers, on checking in and out they were never asked if they needed help with their luggage. The ladies did not need help, but i can image other people who are not as healthy would need help but might be too shy to ask. I felt it wouldnt have taken much for the staff to at least ask. nop. There was no water in the room (or tea/coffee facilities). We had to go to the bar each time we wanted water. Our room was located overlooking the car park where there was a side entrance. I was woken each morning by really loud banging of doors as people were coming and going from 6 in the morning. That really affected my stay at this hotel. Also there was no gym. parking very limited, whole hotel was extremely hot, had to leave windows open and turn of heat in our room for comfort.The rooms while beautifully decorated were old. We were put in a room beside the lift which was very loud but were moved once we questioned it. No tea or Coffee making facilities in rooms. way too expensive, should have better facilities in the rooms such as more channels and better telly, especially for the price you are paying. no dressing gowns in the rooms, room for huge improvement, rooms are very sticky had to have window open all night, badly needs air conditioning. could have been cleaner and more accessible. too many steps especially for people with any kind of disability.I asked to be billed in euros, but was billed in sterling at an unfair exchange rate. For 200 Euro a night...the room was in terrible condition...toilet seat was loose, cracked and flaking walls in bathroom, decorated like a Parisian bordello from the 1800's, window would not close, either too hot or, too cold. Breakfast was unbearably stuffy...low lighting, etc...try other hotels in the world and see what one gets for 200 Euro.
