This lovely Victorian building is in quiet, private walled gardens and is 3 km from Cork city centre, with buses stopping outside the door. It is now a 4-star guest house and has free Wi-Fi and parking. Belvedere Lodge has 20 large en suite rooms, all with cable TV, DVD players, hairdryers and tea/coffee. All rooms are attractively furnished and have views of the walled garden, with its gazebo, ponds and cascades. Some of the rooms also have private access to the gardens. Belvedere Lodge is known for the warm welcome it offers guests. All guests receive tea/coffee and home-made cake in their room on arrival.

Lovely old manor house with a very large parking area out front. Were greeted right away by the Lodge's owner who helped us with our luggage. The rooms were beautiful, large and clean overlooking their garden area. Were given really good directions, and a book with hints on what to see in Cork...even given a lift in cause he had an errand to run. Breakfasts were amazing. Beautiful place!!!!.

Shower was difficult to use no instructions so cold shower was verybracing,just to put user instructions on back of bathroom door wouldgive this hotel 10/10. breakfast ended at 9.45 and i feel that for a sunday morn this was early, 10.30 would be an acceptable cut off time i feel.It took at least 40 minutes to walk into Cork. It was quite far out of town, about 30 minutes walk or 10 minute bus ride which wasn't always easy to figure out, however, it was such a nice place to stay that it wasn't a big deal.Bed was too soft. We thought that the building looked very drab from the outside and wondered initially if we had come to the right place based on the brochure picture. Could do with a coat of paint and a bit of LTC on the outside. Once inside it was superb and as mentioned earlier service and food were excellent.A bit far out of the city centre. The distance to the centre of Cork... We took a cab for 10 Euro`s...the rooms are very cold if central heating isnt on. The location was not great being at least a 25 minute walk to the centre of town. If you dont like waiting for buses on a busy road and dont like paying expensive taxi fees then you would be better off paying the extra euros and staying at a hotel in the centre. The bus service was erratic and taxis were required. The garden was in a poor state and requires maintenance.Shower was difficult to use. There was a lot of traffic noise at night (fly-over at rear of building).the distance from the city centre was a lot further than quoted. Too far out of town - the website should say it is a 10 minute bus or car journey nito the city. I especially picked this BandB because of the gardens described on the website. I felt that this aspect was very misleading. The gardens were small and shabby - very disappointing. rather old fashioned although most of the places I stayed at in Ireland were the same. I was pregnant and was put up on the top floor which was 4 flights of stairs and was offered no assistance with luggage. They saw that I had to leave my bag at the bottom while I brought up my briefcase and computer and came back down to collect my suitcase.Thought it was very expensive for what it was - basically a bandb in apoor location , directly on a main road about 10 minutes drive from Corkcity centre. There was no hot water. How can I complain when they said it was full house.

- Do not go under the tunnel.

- Coming from Rosslare/Waterford, travel via the N25.
- At the intersection with the N8, take the N8 in the direction of Cork City.
- Do not go under the tunnel.
- After 3 km, Belvedere Lodge is on the right side.

- Coming from Galway/Limerick, travel via the N20.
- Follow the signs into the city centre.
- Follow the signs for Dublin (N8).
- Pass the train station.
- After 1.5 km, Belvedere Lodge is on the left.

- Coming from Kerry/Killarney, travel via the N22.
- Continue straight on the city bypass until you go under the Jack Lynch Tunnel (this is the only tunnel in Cork).
- After you come out of the tunnel, turn left in the direction of Cork city.
- After 3 km, Belvedere Lodge is on the right.
