The correct word to describe Hotel ICON is SUPERB !!... This hotel was absolutely ABOVE & BEYOND of my expectation for quality of hotel and hospitality. I stayed at room 2307 for 2 nights. I really enjoy EVERY aspect of this hotel. There's nothing that I don't like... nothing at all. The well-furnished bedroom was huge with all the amenities (pc dock, printer, stationary, dvd player, wireless phone are availabe and ready to use), the luxurious bathroom which is equipped flat screen tv and c.
all reviews » Staff were friendly, check in efficient. Room was a good size, very comfortable bed and fabulous bathroom. Toiletries were of a good standard and free minibar items a bonus, although not as good brands as those in the free minibar of another (cheaper) hotel we had stayed in the night before in HK. Food in the restaurants was expensive but we had a lovely meal in the Chinese restaurant, which has an incredible view over the city, and the breakfast was also very good, so worth the splurge. Gym an. A wonderful respite having spent a busy summer in Europe the staff were welcoming, efficient and extremely helpful. The rooms are impeccably designed, a wonderful place to unwind whilst gazing at the harbour views provided. The pool allowed us to overcome jet lag and relax whilst reading a book. The toughest choice was deciding which restaurant to eat at as the menus provided all looked so appetising, the presentation of the cakes/desserts at Green were something for the eye to behold. The hotel and service we recieved at Hotel ICON was outstanding! The location was great for all of the city highlights, and the hotel made this easier with a free shuttle bus. The staff were happy to help with anything and gave us some good tips on places to visit. The room was clean and spacious with all the facilities we could think of...and some more! We used the roof top pool, which was a little cold but we were in Hong Kong in early February! The gym looked well equip although we did not u. Everything about this hotel stay was excellent! We were thrilled to be upgraded to a suite with breathtaking views of Central Hong Kong and the room had everything you could need (including the daily replenished free mini-bar)! It was very clean and modern with great extra touches. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had room service for some meals but also ate in The Market for dinner one evening and breakfast one morning and both buffets and room service meals were delicious a. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms spacious, clean and modern, full of nice little touches like the free coffee machine, complimentary minibar and Bose iPod speakers. The view was also spectacular in the harbour view room and we were even given a free upgrade. The food is also fantastic with an incredible buffet breakfast. There is also a free shuttle bus to the MTR, Star Ferry and nearby shopping areas every 20 minutes. Overall a fantastic. I stayed in the Icon 36 city view rooms for about 5 days on two separate occasions... loved every minute. The decor is modern with nice finishing (especially the bathroom which was spacious, had interesting tiling, even a separate tv for the tub). The minibar was complimentary and restocked daily. The gym is large with new equipment. Nice pool (which has a good view of the skyline and you can check out the 8pm light show from here). Staff was efficient and attentive. Have recommended this. When we enter the hotel the green tea scent is already showing that this is an exclusive place! (Since in town there are many places that do not smell so nice..)The staff was very friendly and helping from organizing a trip with a tourguide or just catch a taxi.The food both in the 'Market' area and at Above& Beyond restaurant were outstanding. The location was just perfect, everything was very close by foot or the metro station was also nearby. The wifi worked perfectly. I can only recom. From the initial check in the service was superb. The Club Harbour view room was well appointed with access to the Above and Beyond lounge. The complementary happy 2 hours was a treat, especially with views over the harbour. The restaurant food was excellent with great wine list. Late 3.00 pm check out for no extra cost including access to quality afternoon tea. All staff were generous with their time and information. Complementary Shuttle to Kowloon centre made shopping, ferries, dining easily. Facilities and service were absolutely excellent, the bar on the 28th floor was cosy and a great place for a pre-dinner drink with a brilliant view if you got the window seat, the room itself was very stylish, thoughtfully designed and clean, the breakfast buffet was delicious with an incredible range. Oh, and an evening swim on the rooftop with the lights of Hong Kong harbour in the background is wonderful. It's not cheap, but if you're looking to treat yourself I would say it's worth every pe. Everything we could possibly evaluate in a couple of days we stayed. Breakfast is delicious, guest floors are secured starting from the elevator, room interior is gorgeous, everyone is utmost helpful and astonishingly polite, staff is speaking English better than Shakespeare, free frequent shuttle to closest mtr station and riverbank. And they didn't even want the key cards back upon check-out (which I forgot to leave anyway and was so sorry about it that sent them back with a taxi driver)!. We Liked everything about the hotel. This was my second time this year at the Icon and everything about it was equally impressive as the first. It is not stuffy or pretentious but welcoming friendly. We were offered a late check out at no extra charge & were able to wait in the lounge, after check out, until we were picked up for the airport. All staff were courteous & friendly. It was a very nice city holiday spent in Hong Kong. Icon has a fantastic swimming pool and all the staffs were so nice and helpful. My husband got even a birthday cake although we checked out one day before his birthday. Hotel is very thoughtful and made us feels like home. Harbour view rooms with great view to Hong Kong Island. Hung Hom train station is 5 minutes walk, TST MTR station is 10 minutes. location in Kowloon is second to none, view on the water is existent in only some of the rooms, hotel decoration and furnishings are zen and contemporary, the assistant manager Tim gave me an upgrade room which was stunning and very well appointed! There is a free shuttle bus to all obvious kowloon destinations!. Staff were extremely helpful, friendly, and attentive. Good rooms, clublounge is great, 9th floor outdoor pool with a view over the harbour, proper breakfast with lot of choice. Nothing to complain really except that its always full when i try to book late .. But there is a reason for that :). We stayed in club suite with two rooms and dressing room. It was stylish suite with wonderful view. There was a big window in the bathroom with city view. We had a lot of free club services. We could eat and drink in the bar on the top floor (6-8pm). This has to be one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had - its almost like they looked inside my head and then designed my perfect hotel - for business travellers the Club Room is definitely worth the extra, as you get your very own printer. Everything; this hotel is a revelation 1st class everything and at a price way below what you would expect. It is mot stuffy or pretentiou like some of its competition just relaxed but bery chic. The hotel staff were excellent and the dining options varied and good. The Chinese restaurant on the 23 floor is recommended both for the food and the view. Breakfast was outstanding and the spa and pool should not be missed. What a facility, hotel was awesome... The location was exceptional and all the staff were wonderful. The design of the room was world class, excellent environment everywhere you look. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Sumptuous hi-tech room, super comfy bed, ideal for our one night stopover. Great facilities after check-out too (luggage storage and access to a rest room) that enabled us to make full use of our short time in Hong Kong. I only stay for 2 nights :'(. A very minor point, but we informed the hotel prior to our arrival that we were on our honeymoon but this was not acknowledged, unlike in another hotel on our stay who left chocolates and a card in our (upgraded) room. Only a minor point since it was very cold anyway and not the right time of year but; we were told the pool would be open but, when we went to use it, it was closed off. The swimming pool area should be open for longer so we could enjoy the beautiful evening view outside. Sometimes the common areas were extremely cooled down but this applied to Hong Kong in general as well. It's a little way from the nearest useful metro stop, probably 15 minutes walk (East Tsim Sha Sui stop is a bit closer but not very helpful) which might not suit everyone. However it's a perfectly pleasant walk either through the district or by the waterfront. That we had to leave so soon. having to leave, we wished we could have stayed longer. I have tried to find something to be critical of just to give a balanced review and frankly the only thing that I can come up with is the lifts!! Maybe 6 would gave been better than 4 but in fairness it was a full hotel - nit picking really because it is truly a wonderful hotel and I will not stay anywhere else in hk from now on. As mantioned before, the shower design is a bit off - too much weight on looks, instead of use. water splash all over the bathroom floor, and the loose part of the shower fish design is a sliping hazard... The experience was so great that I am shortening my trip in Macau to stay longer at the icon! (maybe they can include a body lotion with a more feminine smell, but not a big deal). Having to leave! It would be nice if there were a couple more tv stations available for those of us whose only language is English. My friend came to talk to me about the problems of her life all night, therefore I only managed to cancel my appointment at the spa for the next day by 10 am which is more than 2 hours before the actual appointment but the spa stil kept 50% of my payment as they declared it a no show.. They gave me the opportunity to go to the spa on another occasion only I do not know when I will be back... Nothing. All good. Nothing at all. Or only minor things, like the gorgeous pool bar area was only open till 930 at night. Wanted more of it. Everything else marvellous. First impression of the front desk crew was not so good; she didn't flash us any smile at all for the whole 15mins conversation and when I asked for an upgrade she answered hastily that the hotel was very full and there was no way we could get it. That I didn't stay longer and wished I booked my entire stay in HK there! Also-I hated it that I didn't have much time to enjoy the hotel itself. A lot of time was spent out of the hotel. Nothing. our room was on the 27th floor. For 3 days straight, every morning we would wake up to some noise coming from room on top of us. It sounded like chairs being dragged across the floor. Nothing - it was all wonderful. Nothing. Cleaning was not good, floor in dressing room was dirty all the time. Shower was leaking and floor had strange orange spots. Bar was full at the free hours. And last one: lifts worked bad. We had to wait them much time. The fact that I had to leave the bubble that is Hotel Icon and start looking after myself again. Slow elevators. Their breakfast was not what I expected. Its not like the breakfast I had the previous day at the Intercont on the bay but I wont detract the fact that it was enjoyable nonetheless. Hotel has amazing view of harbour. Maybe put music for light show to pool area and available on room tv's. Hotel is amazing but I was on relaxing holiday and did not want to have to carry around "smart" clothes for restaurants in hotel. With airlines becoming more strict on luggage weight, so to waste outfits just for dinner was pointless. Te location is slightly off centre but a shuttle bus compensates. A little noise defective. We could hear footsteps from the room above. Apart from that it was unbelievable.
