Reception was very friendly and extremely helpful. All queries - also tourist information - were attended to very well. Facilities are very clean. Space is limited in the room, but did not bother. Location is the best you can ask for. Busses are on the doorstep and can take you in any direction. The Gare l'Est station is also next door. They accepted and stored my luggage safely early the morning before booking-in time. The room had a double door, which kept hotel noises out - should there .
all reviews » The location of the hotel was excellent - the exit from Gare de l'est (Boulevard de Strasbourg No.5 exit) brings you in front of the hotel entrance. The staff is very friendly and in case of early arrivals will keep your luggage so that you can go ahead and explore Paris. The view from our room was excellent and there are lots of eating joints nearby. The rooms are cleaned everyday. Very apt for people who want to explore the city. I stayed for 4 nights and would recommend to all - specially yo. Staff... all of them. They remembered me from four months ago. Called me by name. I already have reservations to return in five weeks. Location is good, right next to metro lines. Very nice restaurants/bars right outside. Rooms are very clean, recent paint and bathrooms are fully updated and modern. Top quality windows (double paned) to block out street noise. Convenient ATMs across the street and across the street from Gare de L'Est. This will be my third time there so obviously I am . I needed a one-night stay to take an early train from Gare d Est, so the location was perfect for this. Walking distance and I felt safe. There are many restaurants on the same street. By chance, the view from the room on the 5th floor was amazing: I could appreciate the Sacro Cour and the Tour Eiffel iluminated at night. Was not expecting to see anything of Paris at all and that was a nice surprise. The personal is friendly. This was a great little hotel. It couldn't be better value for money! Everything was tidy and clean, it was really close to the metro Gare de l'est. Not much to do in the surrounding area but very easy access to the metro. The staff was really friendly and helpful. No major concerns, the hotel as with nearly all Paris hotels was cramped and I wouldn't advise family's to utilize unless staying for a night or two. No parking directly at the hotel available, parking 5 minutes away under the train station Saint Martin is very expensive (more than 10 hours 32€). It was absent access to the internet except one morning; Breakfast has to be more various and to be some choice. No Internet service was available in hotel. I had worse experience in hotel .when I asked the staff ,they did not reply . Simply said it will corrected . I called up to know from railway-station coming from Paris airport , which station we should get down .we did get proper answer. I did not like the fact that some of the receptionists were quite unfriendly and unwilling to help. Plus, the idea of not allowing visits in the rooms should be posted on the website, not on the second day of a guest's arrival. For 2 of the 3 days, wifi was not working. But, they fixed this by providing the wifi password for their next door neighbors (cafe/restaurant). That was much appreciated, thereby leaving this comment as more positive than negative. The lack of elevator was not functioning and that I had to walk on the 4. floor every day. In addition, waste pits and crash was probably in the entire hotel at least 3 days stink. It had the worlds smallest bathroom so of your a big person it would be difficult to manoeuvre around also some of the staff are friendly and some are not. Tiny room and funny bathroom, the window looks out onto noisy street, no WiFi anywhere (none of the two passwords worked!): neither in the room, nor at the reception. You had to buy the breakfast and the staff did not always marked it down, so you had to prove it every day that you have already paid for the breakfast. Very small bathroom. The wireness services is not stable. We live here for 4 nights only 2 nights can use the wireness internet.... And there are no water heater in the room, may go to first floor to get boiled water everytime. We were on the fifth floor and lift never worked. The night doorman was horribly rude. Internet only working on the lobby. When we arrived it was rather coold in the room. The room is too small and noisy. hot water - sometimes, no hair dryer. Outdated, poor furniture, only 1 tinny lift. noisy rooms, suffocated hotel. The Receptionist has told us that there's no phone taxi servise in Paris, so we were forced to search a taxi at 4 o'clock in the mornign on Monday and actually pay a lot of money for that. So don't you think it's a big problem for a such big city not to have a phone taxi service? or i wasn't true?. the bathroom door was broken so it was very hard to open or close. we stayed more than two nights but the soap and shampoo were provided only once and the bed sheets were not changed once. the streets are very loud at night so we were woken up from time to time. one night someone was having s*x in the other rooms near ours, we heard it loud and clear, it was very uncomfortable and annoying. No aircondition- quite stuffy in the summer. The hotel faces a busy street, so if you open the windows the noise is too loud to go to sleep. Night shift guy did his best to convince me to catch a taxi to the airport at 55 euro, saying the metro is too far, very difficult and not possible !.... nonsence the metro was just 9.50 euros and 35 minutes only, easy !!. Only one window with little to no breeze....got very hot in the room.
