Spotlessly clean, spacious 2-br suite. Flatscreen in each bedroom. Fast elevators. At the 14th floor you cannot really get a waterfront view-- but that is quickly traded for the Urban Fare gourmet shopping store (with in-house bakery and coffee bar) directly across Alberni St. Jj Beanz espresso drinks is on the corner. Basically, you can stock your well-sized refrigerator with snacks and breakfast items and enjoy the comforts the kitchen provides. There's a Keurig Coffee maker and coffee pods i.
all reviews » Arrived at the hotel after a 13 + hour flight from New Zealand. Was given a friendly welcome upon arrival. We had the free wifi & keys explained to us. Had a single room suite (room 908), room was nice and tidy, beds firm and comfy, nice view. Fully equipped kitchen, which is helpful if you are on a budget. On the tv there is a channel where you can watch the laundry room live, which was odd at first, but made sense that there would be security to keep an eye on your washing. There is a sma. The apartment was spacious and comfortable, but what impressed me the most was how clean it was. I loved that we booked the Executive one bedroom as it had no wall to wall carpeting...just really clean wood looking laminate floors. It was also very nice to have access to washers and dryers. Also, the location of the hotel was fabulous. So close to everything and it was so handy to have a gourmet food store across the street and a liquor store 1 block away. I will definately be staying at th. Great location with walking distance to the harbour, Gastown, Chinatown, shopping, restaurants, bus stops and Skytrain. Carmana is located across from Urban Fare, an amazing supermarket with quality foods, take-out foods and eat-in area. Living room, dining room and kitchen provide space to relax in the apartment after a long day sightseeing. Kitchen has the basics making it possible to prepare a simple meal. Reception staff were helpful and provided prompt and accurate information regarding. Can't beat the location- 2 min away from the Robson st. The neighborhood is very safe. The room we had was a suite- basically a one bedroom apartment with a fully equipped kitchen (even tea pot and bottle opener included). Hotel personnel pays great attention to details- everyday they left us 2 complimentary bottles of water, tea and coffee selection in the room was great. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We stayed at 3 different hotels in the area and thought this one was the best op. It was a very spacious and well appointed two bedroom apartment. The downtown location was perfect as we were only in Vancouver for one night and it was handy to great shops and restaurants and a short taxi to Gastown etc. The staff were incredibly helpful, polite and knowledgeable at all times. The Urban Fare directly across the road was great for groceries and breakfast. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend Carmana Plaza. The doormen were very helpful and friendly! The staff were accommodating and the location was fabulous- right next to Robson st! Everything is within walking distance! Loved the room, very clean and felt like a fancy modern condo. She contacted the tour company we were taking a bus trip with the day we checked out and confirmed everything the night prior. She emailed, called and found us in person to let us know that our tour of Vancouver was on and where to be picked up. We will definitely be back and in no small part to her work and dedication to customer service. The most friendly hotel we have ever stayed at - we have travelled to many places around the world and all the concieage boys and reception ladies were the most attentive and helpful we have ever had - even supplied scales to weigh our luggage for our international flight home ** Simply the best service ever** Eugine, Tino and Joseph also need a special mention going beyond our expectation. We love the hotel. It was very clean, new and very spacious. Nice full kitchen equipped with all the necessary appliances and even has a separate eating area. It is close to shopping and restaurants and only a short drive to the famous Capalano Bridge and Granville Island. Great price for a great hotel! Also includes free wifi which is not so common in other hotels. The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly & accommodating. The location was excellent. The apartment was clean, comfortable and the view magnificent. There was a great supermarket across the road and coffee shops everywhere. Location is perfect for downtown Vancouver - 10min walk to Stanley park or English Bay beach or Canada Place. We are a mature couple, but we had our college age grandson with us, so the 2-bedroom, 2 bath suite was excellent. We loved all the space, as well as having a microwave and refrigerator. Also the location was great! Loved the view we had between the buildings of the mountain. There was nearby construction but it didn't impact our stay as far as noise intrusion. Certainly will book it again in the future. We stayed in a Queen Suite which offered heaps of space and a high degree of comfort. But given the densely populated and driven area of Vancouver, this turned out to be the best bet for anyone with a rental vehicle. In-and- Out privileges, too. This isn't really a negative, but if I didn't put something in this column then all the pluses would seem less credible. There is no restaurant - which mean no room service. There was no offer of help when we were looking for a rental car, they just pointed us in the direction and that was that, there was no offer to call to see if there were cars available. Other than the above, they stay was wonderful. I don't have anything bad to say about the hotel. Standard bedroom with two beds leaves you with minimal circulation space. One bed was right against the closet making access to the closet very difficult. The other bed was few inches away from the first bed and the window. Salt, pepper and sugar should be provided as part of the kitchen basics. Be aware that there is a construction in progress next to the hotel so it may disturb a bit if you would like to sleep in. It didnt bother us a bit as they work during the day while we were sight seeing. That we couldn't stay longer! (We were only in Vancouver for one night). Absolutely nothing was bad. There is no room service but it's fine since there are a lot of restaurants nearby walking distance. Parking in the garage is $25 per day. Nothing. The lights in the bathroom were inadequate for putting on makeup, etc. Thicker towels would have been better. The keys were a bit cumbersome, but I'm sure they are more secure than the kind you just slide through a slot. The construction sometimes had the sidewalk blocked but the traffic was light and we were able to cross the street easily. Booked via internet so sign at entrance cause a minor alarm!- Spacious 1 & 2 bed apartments to rent unfurnished! Of course our apparment was furnished.... Remember this is not a hotel. No resturant, No pool, No bar. Despite this there are plenty of resturants and entertainment oportunities all within walking distance. We all enjoyed our stay. Cannot think of anything. Everything I needed was there and available. Nothing! Was perfect!. We didn't find anything to dislike about Carmana Plaza. We would recommend it to others. We liked everything about the Carmana plaza. -Need hand towels in the kitchen, an extra set of towels instead of just 2 sets in the bathroom, bed could be more firm. Construction work next door made it difficult to access the hotel & cross the street. - airco made a lot of noise - no breakfast or restaurant but you can find everything immediately near the hotel. There is a construction right next to the hotel (end of May 2013). Our rooms were not facing it, and we didn't get any hear any noise from it, but I think if room faces the construction, the view outside the windows would be spoiled. I wish there was a better view from my room, I got a view of the alley. Would have been nice to have a bar/cafe in reception area though entrance was very stylish and attractive. Too expensive to park-$25/day. No electronic key. We had great difficulty each time we opened the door. No available parking for our vehicle and parking at the other hotel was expensive. The room felt a bit stark, perhaps some warm colours or larger art on the walls would help. Not really an issue. The bed was not as comfortable as you would expect. Construction next door was noisy and created traffic problems on Alberni. Difficulty getting into and out of parking garage. Located on a trick route to get to. Awful vanilla scent blown in through the ventilation system. I had requested a scent-free room due to my daughter's chemical sensitivity and had to request maintenance remove the scented cakes. By then, she was sick and in pain from the fumes. The apartment was very clean so spewing toxic chemicals into the air was unnecessary. We had to cancel our second night because the space made her sick. Need a few more kitchen items, microwave dish, sink plug, oven tray. Would have made cooking in the great kitchen easier for the traveller. Parking is a bit difficult. Construction next door. Temporary but effects rooms on end. While it lacks some of the things a regular hotel offers, like a restaurant, business center or bar, the fact that you can easily access these things, given the location, makes the "lack" minimal. The customer service was very good, but could have been more "inviting/personal.".
